I'm a 44 year old professional​ woman working in the health care field and  living just outside of Washington DC. I'm married and we have a teenager.  My default outlook is optimism and I enjoy meeting new and interesting people.  I'm honest, open and friendly. I'm athletic and enjoy both the beach and the mountains. I enjoy the outdoors more than being inside, and use my creative skills (writing, drawing, no-cost decorating) to make indoor time more enjoyable.

I am one of those write anytime kind of people, so you never have to apologize for taking a while to write back. If you find yourself starting your message with a sorry for taking a while to write, then you have me confused with someone who cares about that sort of thing, lol... We just pick up where we left off, remind each other of our names if necessary and go from there. Very easy going. And if for some reason we outgrow the friendship, it is ok to say so. Also, I tend to do a lot of writing in my notes and I may not notice when your light comes on (plus the lights don't always reflect accurately if someone is on or off around here), so say hi, and I will always answer.

I consider learning my number one interest (not for the sake of learning alone but for the sake of sharing with others), so I enjoy listening to books on tape, and reading by the fireplace. I also enjoy meeting new people, listening to music, drawing, writing, beaches, mountains, hiking, and boogie boarding.

One day, I'd like to learn scuba diving, surfing, photography and painting. The jury is still out on actives such bungee jumping or hang gliding. And the jury is no longer out on sky diving... I plan to make my first jump (hope it's not my last, lol) on my next birthday.

I have a dog and a cat who both enjoy following me around the house. Actually, I am owned by these creatures, but shhhh! Don't tell them! They both individually​ and together make me smile, since my cat thinks he's a dog and my dog thinks she's a person.

Oh, if anyone out there has an answer for this one, let me know. Our dog, hates the fan in the living room but sticks her head out the window of out car at 60 miles an hour. The curious things they do!

24 is the only show I go out of my way to watch, force of habit, I think. I don't do a lot of tv viewing. I also enjoy the challenge of figuring out the medical issue(s) that House MD has to solve.

I also enjoy fiction and poetry.
