yes latin is not it's origin .
but english is affected by latin and french .
more than any other language affected it .

and i have studied linguistics too.

yes both are indo european languages.
but english is very new language and sanskrit is very old.

that is fine, no need to worry about mistake.

sanskrit is only spoken in very small village in india and mostly used for dharmic works .

to be precise german is origin of english . in case of old.
then latin and french . in case of modern .

few indian languages are direct decedent of sanskrit.
