Random penpals...
All too soon my time at college will end
Sometimes I dwell on it so much I think I'm round the bend
The good times will go, the people will leave
Soon there will be nothing for me to do but grieve
Or is that the case? I can't help but wonder
If I'm inadvertantely making an enormous blunder
I will no doubt be very sad
But in between I shall be very glad.
The things we've done, the shows we've made
The great memories of which will never fade
The laughter, the jokes, the tears, the joy
All set me in good stead for the other great times ahoy
The commitment, the patience, the determination, the push
Is as beautiful to me as a garden lush.
My friends will all go their own seperate ways
but one thing we all know, we'll carry the memories to the end of our days.
I will miss Craig and Chris and Lee
Who are undoubtedly the funniest people known to me
Jordan and Paul and Simon too
People like them are sadly all too few.
Gemma and Jade and Caroline I shall miss as well
And when Paul cracks a joke it's like raising hell.
Eric and JP and Gordon are the sweetest people I know
But my little sister Steph will be perhaps the hardest to see go
But they are only just a few examples, everyone is great
Sometimes our antics have kept us up well late
Bowling after college, going down the town
With activities like this, how could you feel down?
We never made it to the cinema, they most likely wouldn't let us in
Our sense of humour and adventure they would consign to the bin
But we did manage to get to Alton Towers, what a thrill
An experience like that is one for which you could kill.
A pint at the Dubliners, and perhaps the throw of a dart
Really break the ice, so there's no need to fart
Pints of beer, lager and Coca-Cola flow
Drink all you want before you go
But watch out for those soggy chips, they're really not the best
And why does that shepherd's pie remind me of a bird's nest?
On the night of a show, all the nervous tension ran loose
The stage was so hot we all needed a steady flow of juice
Stepping into someone else's shoes and going out there to act
Was between all of us the most sacred pact
The amount of talent, the luck of the draw
That was the casting caller's law
Stepping out when it was done and taking our call
Was the ideal way to bring each show to a fall.
So as you see, all these memories are mine
And surely you must agree they are incredibly fine
Where do I go from here? Who is to know
But one thing's for certain - I will never go low
So heads up to the summer and thanks to one and all
Thanks for taking my back away from the wall
And who knows, ten or twenty years down the line
We'll all meet up again and go wine and dine
