Andrew Lloyd Webber

There's this British composer - Andrew Lloyd Webber's his name
As far as musicians go, he's top of the game
He comes up with an idea and then produces the note
But his modesty will not allow him to gloat
His music is magic, his vision is clear
His musicals are mega, all of which I hold very dear
He's not afraid to work for his dream
He and Tim Rice are the perfect tag team
Joseph and JCS and Evita too
And also The Likes of Us, give that its due
But Andrew's craftsmanship goes far beyond that
He makes all his rivals sit and say drat
He created a world of trains in Starlight Express
A bright, chirpy musical that's bound not to depress
Cats was all about the beauty of the feline
A basic plot but it sure followed the beeline
And the Phantom of the Opera, where will he pop up next?
He comes and goes so quickly it leaves us all perplexed
Song and Dance and Tell Me on a Sunday
Are guaranteed to give the audience a fun day
Sunset Boulevard and Aspects of Love
Are as beautiful and graceful as a heavenly dove
All the music is filled with majesty and grace
And so moving in places it sends tears down your face
Whistle Down the Wind is a beautiful tale
Everyone reading ought to find the soundtrack in the mail
And one particular musical not particularly tame
Is the one known only as The Beautiful Game
A strong and powerful tale of love and loss
This is one show not to be called dross
Bombay Dreams and the Woman in White
Flow so smoothly it's almost a fright
Dignity and passion are high up the list
And the message is so strong it hits like a fist
And now I hear the Phantom is coming back
New ideas for music he is certain not to lack
So if you read this Andrew please listen to me
Your music makes my soul soar high and feel free
Your work is so familiar it's a part of my life
I turn to it when in trouble or strife
But I also make sure to listen when I'm glad
If I stopped listening I must be going mad.

Good afternoon nathan,
I just finished reading your poem on Andrew Lloyd Webber, and must say well done! I really enjoyed reading it.
One thing I liked about your poetry is that you didn't just put words together for the sake of it. You clearly had a story to tell and you stuck to it and also made it rhyme --Which by the way isn't easy at all! So well done for that.
My favourite lines were
"Sunset Boulevard and Aspects of Love
Are as beautiful and graceful as a heavenly dove"
Would you care to elaborate on those two lines for me?
Your poem was also Interesting because it took kind of a shift from being this story to suddenly being a letter as a fan of his music, was this what you intended? If so you done a very good job capturing that.
So again really good job! If I find time today I will read your other two as well!
