About Me:
I'm not sure what's worse -- writing little tidbits about yourself like this, or going to the dentist to have a root canal and your teeth extracted. Maybe it's a tie. Where's my novocaine?
I have officially failed my mission of not turning 30. Not enough people would sign my petition. Damn them all! But that's alright, there's always next year...I guess I can start by warding off any romance-seekers. I'm just looking for friendship and getting to know people, whether male or female, providing you have a pulse. I am not-so-newly single, but I suppose you could say that I'm currently trying to find myself at the moment--sort of like Where's Waldo?, only less exciting. Either way, romance is about the farthest thing from my mind right now. No, really... Personality-wise, I'm quirky and the sort who believes that life's too short to be so seriously serious, so I love a good sense of humor and admit that my own can be a bit warped, dry, and sarcastic, but always harmless and in fun. So I promise, I won't bite. ;-) Not hard, anyway.
I am kind of/sort of intelligent; however, I'm one of those slackers who did not attend college--though this is something I'm hoping to do in the near future. Then again, I can also be a bit scatterbrained--you know, the sort with absentminded moments, who'll leave milk in the pantry and the cereal in the freezer, along with the car keys, the fishbowl, the lead pipe, and basically anything else that doesn't belong there. We'll just blame that on the genes...or the California smog.
I love to go out and have fun, but I also tend to be the homebody. I'm a girlie-girl stuck in a tomboy's attitude. (Did that make sense? Didn't think so...). I love reading, love to write--not that I finish anything I start. I try to sing, play the piano or guitar ('try' being the keyword here), but in truth...I suck. No, really... I also love watching films, from cheesy chick flicks, drama and thrillers to scantily-clad men wielding pointy swords, going on about their freedom (mmm). I'm also sad to admit that I'm a closet-case geek at heart, who secretly likes video/computer games, but still in the stages of denial.
Would love to travel, but my wallet won't let me.
I'll be honest and say that I'm likely going to make quite the naughty, little penpal, since I work from home all day, typing at slave labor wages. The chances of an immediate response, daily, or for days even, are slim. Honest! Therefore, my green online light may be on, but it doesn't necessarily mean that anyone's home ;). If you're willing to be patient with me and not take offense for this, I promise to write back as soon as my tired fingers and senile mind will let me. You are more likely going to have better luck with longer, less frequent mails than shorter, consistent ones due to the nature of my job.
As far as languages go, I failed French and I failed Spanish (mm rebellion), but happy to help someone with their English and possibly learn something, too.
Yes, my profile is long. I get it. And yet you're still reading? Tut! Let's just say I'd rather skip some repetitious things about myself, rather than going over it like a broken record. Why? Because I'm lazy. I admit it.
Look forward to meeting you :)

Requests:
No spam (canned version or otherwise). No pervs. Sorry, I don't do regular email or IM, they're evil...and not in a fun way. :(
I'd marry you, but I have commitment issues.
I'd marry you, but I have commitment issues.
Interests, Hobbies, etc.:
Reading, writing, sunflowers, naughty chihuahuas, games, denying that I've turned 30, annoying and corrupting others, honing my awesome Jedi skills, men in togas, happy drunks, plotting world domination......one small step at a time.
Favorite Music:
The Rolling Stones, Jimi, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Etta James, Robert Johnson, Gogol Bordello, Arctic Monkeys, Muse, Regina Spektor, Muddy Waters, Rosie Thomas, Joplin, Massive Attack, Placebo, Led Zeppelin, Edith Piaf, Mazzy Star, Norah Jones, SOAD, Bukka White, Son House, Bach, John Lee Hooker, 30 Secs, Scott Matthews, Sia, Jose Gonzalez, Fred McDowell, Beatles, Beth Waters, Ane Brun, Ingrid Michaelson, Holly Brook, Rachael Yamagata, Kate Walsh...strange theme songs; such as The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, Apocalypse Now, etc. Why? No idea.
The list is long, scary and a bit all over the place, sort of like my mind.

Favorite Movies:
Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Lethal Weapon, Lord of the Rings, Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead, Capote, Silence of the Lambs, Meet Joe Black, Full Metal Jacket, The Green Mile, Pulp Fiction, Interview with the Vampire, Pride and Prejudice, The Thin Man, The Exorcist, Bourne--all of 'em, Shawshank Redemption, Resident evil (1-3), Crash. I'm sure I'm missing some.
Favorite TV Shows:
Lost, Heroes, Rome, Alias, Dexter, Dead Like Me, House MD, The Tudors. History Channel, Discovery. Sometimes anything; sometimes nothing at all. Lately it would be 'nothing at all', because I am too lazy to find the remote.
Favorite Books:
I'm always welcoming suggestions! I slept through most of high school reading--well, most of high school, really, but am slowly, maybe, kinda, sort of catching up. Are you amazed? I know I am.
That Cat Who Stomped Its Feet, Green Eggs & Ham (What?? It's literary genius!), Book of Evidence, Nausea. ;) Oui, oui.

Favorite Quotes:
'"Some days you're the pigeon...other days you're just the statue.'
"Not a shred of evidence exists in favor of the idea that life is serious." Some guy...or girl, let's not be sexist about it.
"Poppppppiiiies." - The Wicked Witch of the West (the green one, not me)
"Lies are like children: they're hard work, but it's worth it because the future depends on them." House MD
"You talk to God, you're religious. God talks to you, you're psychotic." House MD
