I'm just an average man with eclectic interests.  I'm a single parent who has been raising his kids on his own for quite a while.  Now that they are getting older, I find I have more time to foster new friendships and relationship​s.  I enjoy the arts, reading, movies, sports, learning new things from around the world, things that make me laugh and things that make me learn.  I am interested in other cultures, foreign languages, philosophica​l debates and discussions.​  I am well-educate​d and stay informed on current events.  I am interested in seeing our world move towards more sustainable living.  I love the Christmas season and winter snows.

I would enjoy making some new friends from all over the world if you have some of the same interests as me.  There must be a variety of people out there who want to exchange interesting conversation​s and discussions,​ share elements of their culture, talk about the weather, and share either the mundane or the novel in their part of the world.

I studied quite a lot of French (and a few other languages) in years past.  However, my skills are quite rusty now.  I would enjoy improving those skills now.  I would also enjoy learning other languages as well.

Classical music - Beethoven, Ravel, Chopin, Bach, Mozart, Respighi, Copland, Gershwin, Scarlatti, Dvorak, Smetana, Debussy, Rachmaninov,​ Ravel, Liszt, Handel, and others.  Solo piano, orchestral, chamber, operatic, vocal, and cinema music as well.  Also a bit of jazz from time to time.

The various Star Trek series, Seinfeld, Cheers, Andy Griffith Show, Lost, The Addams Family, Desperate Housewives, The Office, The Big Bang Theory, Two and a Half Men, The Bob Newhart Show, and others.  I enjoy comedies, British comedies, science fiction, documentarie​s and some dramas.

The Lord of the Rings and other Tolkien literature, classic literature, astronomy and physics books, the Harry Potter series, historical fiction, The Count of Monte Cristo, Noble House, Centennial, Robinson Crusoe, science fiction, and others.
