About Me:
Hi, I'm Phil:))
I'm from Cornwall, England, and have lived here in Ireland since 1992, and I am living in Cavan. I am a passionate guy who's open, honest and trusting. I am also very trustworthy, kind, generous and loyal. I'm the what you see is what you get type. I have nothing to hide, and wear my heart on my sleeve! I'm a typical Sagi! I have a good sense of humour, bit nutty sometimes! Couldn't tell a joke to save me life, but I find lots of things funny in a an ironic or off the wall sort of way. I prefer 'Black humour' to stand up comics etc...
Music is a massive part of me. I am passionate about it and I live for it. I'm into all sorts of stuff from the weird to the wonderful, straight Rock to the downright bizarre, psychedelic or ambient, sometimes heavy, often very electronic, and I just zone away! I have a massive collection of CD's and Vinyl, love singing and sometimes play guitar. I'm not great at it, but not bad either. I do know quite a lot of chords, can't read music but my ear tells me they sound right, so with practice, I'm 'getting better all the time,(can't get no worse)! I also have two synthesizers and every now and then I dust them down and blast out some doom laden sounds and crack a few windows in the process (only joking!) I love live gigs, have been to tons of them over the years, about 40 odd, and seen some of the worlds best and most iconic, Stones, The Who, Dylan, Chuck Berry, Mccartney, Ringo, Fleetwood Mac, Bowie, Simon & Garfunkle & the Everly's etc etc. Many others too. But out of them all there is one who stands out for me... Gary Numan. I got into him when I was 13. I've been a fan for 31 years!
I grew up by the sea in a Cornish town called Torpoint, on the banks of the River Tamar. It was a good place to grow up. When I was 17, I joined the Royal Navy, a lifetime ambition, and trained as a Chef. So I have travelled to many parts of the world, and no before you ask, I did'nt have a girl in every port!!! I was shy! I did bring with me however, some great experiences and memories from those years and they have helped shape the person I am today.
What am I doing today? Well, when I moved over here, for the first 9 years I was with Irish Ferries, still cheffing but then I decided I was tired of all the head pressure that goes with all that stuff, plus all the bullshit, so I ended up getting myself a Fork lift license. It just seemed like a good idea to me at the time, and it has paid off! I did return to cooking for a short time on the Greek Island of Zakynthos, and a hotel in Padstow, Cornwall as Breakfast Chef, then I returned to Ireland and got back on the Fork Lift. In 2007 I moved to Cavan Town. I like it here, It's a nice, friendly town and its near to the country and the lakes too which is nice.
I also love animals and nature. I have three totally mad Cats, Misty, Sparrow and Phantom, who think they own me, and there's a couple of extra's that turn up at feeding time as well! I am also a 'foster' parent for an Elephant called Jokia, who is blind, and lives in Thailand in a Sanctuary for Elephants that have been badly treated or abused.
I'm a nice, decent, genuine person with a good heart, a bit mad, but not a bad bone in sight! I can be a friend to anyone, I try to be nice all the time, donate when I can to charity,(Comic Relief recently and RNLI), and I am certainly not keen on negative stuff, confrontation or gossip. But I do get hurt occasionally by cruel people and can be sometimes a little too green, trusting or innocent for my own good, that's another one of my Sagi trait
If there is anyone out there that's reading this, and you can identify with what I've written and my interests, c'mon now, don't be shy! Drop me a line and say hello!
Cheers, have fun, stay safe, best of luck to all of you, and have a great day xxx
