Hello, everyone! I'm not sure if this topic has already been discussed here, but here's one of the problems a friend of mine (who is an active Interpaller also) has.

It was a second time that his computer got infected by a Trojan virus (from your site, as my friend states), that SAYs you're infected making it seem as if it is your own virus scanner, but it's really just a trick. You just have to immediately shut down your computer come back in safe mode and change the registry back to the previous day.
Are there any plans to make this site safer from a virus protection point of view?

Thanks!

What kind of proof do you have that it originated from Interpals.net?

As far as I know, virus scans are run on the server very frequently...

I got three Trojan viruses some weeks ago as well, and I do believe I got them from Interpals because when I'm online, then usually just on this site here. Besides, one of my penpals from the US says she got a virus twice on here too which resulted in her taking her profile off. I do have an anti-virus program, but it did not recognize the Trojans.

Considering the majority of users use Windows here, if one person received a trojan then chances are over 60% would have... and it doesn't seem like even one quarter of that is posting in this topic...

So, based on the statistics, it did not originate from Interpals. Furthermore, there still isn't any proof of where it originated from, nor was the trojan's name even posted.

If someone has anymore information, please post - though I feel it is highly unlikely that you received a trojan from Interpals.

Twice in the past couple of days, while logged in at InterPals, I received warnings that my avast antivirus program detected viruses. According to the log viewer, the first virus was an "HTML:Iframe-inf" and the second was "JS:Downloader-FT [Trj]".

Just because lots of people haven't posted to this topic doesn't mean lots of people haven't been infected. They might be infected and not know it, or they might not have seen this topic.
Can you share where on interpals this warning on your virus scanner pops up? You say, does it occur when you first open interpals to your homepage? or is it when you visit someone's profile? Or... other?

At least my computer sometimes detects a virus when I come to the forums. Last time my antivirus software detected a virus and the name was something like this: Trojan-Clicker.HTML.Iframe

I'll give updates if this happens again.

next time it happens - to anyone,
can you please provide a screen shot of the incident, what your virus scanner says and everything. Don't close out of the virus scanner and interpals, just take a quick screenshot of all of it and post it here.

Most likely, this is due to a virus possibly piggy-backing on one of the ads from our ad networks.

To help us determine which ad network is responsible, please right-click and copy the link URLs for each of the ads displayed on the page that causes prompts your virus scanner's warning. Thanks!

BTW, the alerts don't appear in the forums anymore, but when viewing someones profile, or my message inbox etc.
