I am actually reading three books lol (being the bibliophile that I am) The Far Pavilions by M. M. Kaye the second book in The Immortals quartet by Tamora Pierce and A Room with a View by E. M. Forster.
The first book is an epic novel (1000 pages of amazing!) about the entwined life of different people set during the British Raj. A massive, historical, brilliant novel along the lines of Gone With the Wind or War and Peace - it has a bit of everything for everyone - suspense, romance, action, adventure, mystery, prejudice....All set against the backdrop of a controlled India during the days of the mighty Raj.
Number two is actually a re-read of a really nice fantasy quartet, by an author I really like. The immortals follows the adventures of a supposed orphan girl with an amazing ability and her powerful Mage teacher as they uncover the mystery of the immortals - creatures from another realm who have suddenly appeared in their world and are causing trouble in the kingdom.
And number three is the funny, biting, Edwardian novel about social class, criticism and the romance caught up between them in the repressed society of Edwardian England by one of my favorite authors, E.M Forster. If anyone if interested in seeing it, the 1985 movie version is brilliant.
