Anthanasia I noticed your profile says "I don't want to talk to kafirs" (an insulting term for non-Muslims). If you don't want to communicate with anyone who is a "kafir" then why are you doing so here on the forum? Because she's not here to communicate: she's here to lecture (I know you know that but I still wanted to point it out). But in fairness many Christians have the same attitude and they post here on the forums for our enjoyment. P.S. I thought "kafir" was a term for "black person" but does it also include other races? Now I'm racist AND prejudice? The reason behind me saying I don't want to kafirs is more indicating I am tired of these headstrong messaging me to insult me and my faith...some atheist have a grudge against faith and attack people like me randomly. Also sometimes I get is messages from ex-Muslims who do the same messaging me telling me that they lost faith and they are doing fine.. Well that's good for you I guess but I didn't create a profile to defend my faith. It may come as a surprise but I have a big interest in other cultures and science and history. Kafir means - A person who absolutely denies God/Allah (and basically says it outright). Sure it's not a positive little fluffy word of happiness to you but it's the reality, to us God/Allah is obvious, as obvious as the air we breathe...for the non-believer/kafir to just deny that seems inconceivable. If you take offense to the term it's your own doing. When ever did kafir mean black person? That's insulting...study up more you could've just even googled that to know that term come on dude.

Indeed, "kaffir" has several meanings, including a racial slur. So it is unwise to use that word on an international forum because
people from different countries will have different interpretations.

The word was originally used by moslems in the slave trade to mean african blacks who did not believe in allah,they did not publicly use it for whites,whites had guns and power..they used it much the same way that christians used heathen...

It's clearly up to people to choose who they correspond with. Even so, I think you can put a request not to be contacted by certain people in a reasonably polite way. It doesn't have to be a term that is obviously offensive to many people.

To me it's not just the word "kafir" that insulting. But also the attitude that she has no interest in communicating with anyone who doesn't share her religious beliefs.

How are you supposed to learn and grow as a human being if you don't even want to try exchanging ideas with people who think differently?

This sounds as if I live in some cave protecting my Qur'an. I am a part of interfaith groups here in America, I also work with mostly the non-religious...my glass on intermingling is quite full and content thanks.

It's a shame people take kafir out of context but it's part of the religion, I couldn't imagine someone using it against a certain race of people...finding that out is appalling.
