ok i am a REALLY picky person in what books i read.
put it this way for those that read harry potter, i never got to the second page of the first book, never got my attention.
I also read manga and use to read books like Goosebumps, The magic tree house, and The Bailey school kids, but lets focus on longer chapter books.
well anyways i'll tell you what books i have read and we will see if you have any good suggestions.

The Last Apprentice BY: Joseph Delaney
The Magicians BY: Lev grossman
The Lost Gate BY: Orson Scott Card

yes you see now? very picky XD
but if it interests me i do give it shot. so give me good ones like these Ðàçñìèâàíå :D

Perhaps you might like The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare?

Yes they're very similar but both are amazing! I'm so happy that you guys suggested that! It makes me happy when I see other people who like TMI. Ðàçñìèâàíå :D

Definately agree with Mortal Instruments and Infernal Devices!
How about The Summoning by Kelly Armstrong? It's a series! Or Wicked by Nancy Holder!

The Infernal Devices is MUCH better than the Moral Instruments imo

-the inheritance series
-a song of fire and ice series

Try some Mercedes Lackey or Marion Zimmer Bradley. Lloyd Alexander is another really good writer of fantasy.
