There are a lot of books I remember from my childhood, but I think one of my all-time favorites is "Brave Irene" by William Steig...it's a great story, but I also just adore his illustrations! I still look for it in book stores just to flip through the pages.
And Beatrix Potter, I love "The Tale of Two Bad Mice."

i also liked the short story i read in middle school called the scarlett ibis
When I was child there are many translated (to Indonesian) children series I like to read in the town library,
- Enid Bliton
- Astrid Lingdren
- Ann M. Martin
- Barbara M. Joosse
- Judy Blume
- R.L. Stine
- Seymour Simon
- Anthony Buckeridge.
But the most favorite for me until now is children series by Anthony Buckeridge.
where i grew up people would donate stuff like clothing and books and one time someone donated a cache of comic books. they were well read and worn, some without covers . in there was a collection about a group of kids known as the legion of superheroes.it was kinda goofy, not real serious battles all the time like today's comic superheroes. some had goofy almost dumb powers.they were a club of teenagers.even their clubhouse looked like a crashed rocket.i loved those stupid stories!
