About Me:
I am a simple girl who has many interests. I love to learn and share. My family and friends mean everything to me. I'm educated and have many hopes and dreams that I am not afraid to make come true even if it means taking risks. I'm planning a trip in the summer 2009 to travel abroad. It will be the first time I am outside of the country! I'm looking forward to meeting people from around the world to learn of your adventures. Talk soon! :)
Requests:
I value honesty. If you're leaving a wall post or message, write something that's more than a general greeting. It would be nice to learn something else about you and what made you respond. My online time is limited (busy schedule), but I make the time to stay in touch and I am open to almost all forms of communication with the people I am getting to know. I do leave my computer on so I might be there. I welcome male and female contacts. I never forget the people who are writing with me.
Snail mailing is an extension of my friendship and personal to me. I will have to sense there's a sincerity, enough common interests, and spark from you to do this. Other times, I just want to leave an imprint in your life because I have found a fascinating being! As a pen friend, I will do my best to share my world with you from across the ocean and in an envelope. If you are adding me as friend and we haven't conversed, leave a note. The request remains pending until we know each better or will be declined.
Sometimes people do not click even with best of intention and change happens. Maybe another time, a new day, with fresh eyes, we'll talk again. I'm here to exchange ideas, connect with pen pals and form lasting friendships. With all this said, the people on my friend's list are amazing people. They have opened my eyes, touched my heart and enriched my soul. It is this spirit of International Exchange that I seek!
My favorite passage is The Invitation by Oriah, The Mountain Dreamer:
It doesn’t interest me what you do for a living. I want to know what you ache for, and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart’s longing. It doesn’t interest me how old you are. I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool for love, for your dreams, for the adventure of being alive.
It doesn’t interest me what planets are squaring your moon. I want to know if you have touched the center of your own sorrow, if you have been opened by life’s betrayals or have become shriveled or closed from fear of further pain! I want to know if you can sit with pain, mine or your own, without moving to hide it or fade it or fix it. I want to know if you can be with joy, mine or your own, if you can dance with wildness and let the ecstacy fill you to the tips of your fingers and toes without cautioning us to be realistic or to remember the limitations of being human.
It doesn’t matter to me if the story you’re telling is true. I want to know if you can disappoint another to be true to yourself; if you can bare the accusation of betrayal and not betray your own soul. I want to know if you can be faithful and therefore be trustworthy. I want to know if you can see beauty even when it is not pretty every day, and if you can source your life from God’s presence. I want to know if you can live with failure, yours and mine, and still stand on the edge of a lake and shout to the silver of the full moon,"Yes!"
It doesn’t interest me where you live or how much money you have I want to know if you can get up after the night of grief and despair, weary and bruised to the bone, and do what needs to be done for the children. It doesn’t interest me who you are, how you came to be here. I want to know if you will stand in the center of the fire with me and not shrink back. It doesn’t interest me where or what or with whom you have studied I want to know what sustains you from the inside when all else falls away.
I want to know if you can be alone with yourself, And if you truly like the company you keep in the empty moments
