About Me:

The "about me" section of a profile serves one purpose. To frustrate those composing it. You know that feeling though, because you've dealt with it yourself. Feel free to ignore this entirely. Or soak it in.

I have been known as Priest, Prodigy, Prophet, Hippie, Wanderlust, Peacemaker, Seeker, Fool and Friend. I'll champion a cause I believe in. I believe in probabilities, but not chance. Many of my favorite people have been dead for more than a thousand years. Most notably Marcus Aurelius, Epictetus, Lucretius and Antony.

I'm a voracious reader. That's a very good thing since I just started my graduate degree and am now working on a three year M. Div. Though I get along better with children than I do the well-educated. Don't worry. If you have more a passion for learning than for telling people how it is, we'll get along just fine.

When I find myself bored, a rare event indeed, I produce documents that look quite formal but serve absurd purposes, such as:
- Contingency plans for when zombies inevitably attack.
- Hugs for Ben rewards program, with a full table of points and prizes.
- Mini novelas in which all the characters are muffins/scones.
- Statistics on the influence of a beard on my roommate and me.
- 15 page applications to date my friends (people have actually filled them out before).
- The History of the World from the perspective of 2055 A.D., when bunnies have forced us all into a war and the human resistance is struggling to hold on.

I am not you. And you are not me. That's enough reason for me to love you as a human being.

Requests:

I tend toward snail mail, though I do carry on a few significant conversations with some friends online. And while I appreciate the fact that the younger generation is taking up penpaling by storm, I find I have very little discuss with most people who have graduated high school. Apologies.

I'll be quite frank: I'm a crazy letter writer. I doodle prolifically, and I tend to write short novels each time around. But goodness knows everyone needs a short novel from time to time. Especially about the day to day adventures of boy wonder here. And yes, you will more often than not receive a seemingly worthless gift with any given letter that either has any awesome story behind it or is simply shiny.

Some suggestions for contacting me: First of all, do it. I honestly don't bite. Unless we're good friends, in which case I have been known to. Second, if you really want to get me talking, tell me something about yourself. Or comment on something on my profile. Norah Jones never fails to be an excellent conversation starter.
____________________________________

There is a kind of person. They note the subtleties and subtitles of human interaction and react accordingly. Their insights are not born of corner bookstores or cultural informants. They wonder more often than know. And their uncertainty is what makes them seek something.

If you are simply a product of your culture; if you have never made a decision to step away from what you were told to believe; if you have never questioned the world around you so deeply that you thought it might tear at the seems, you might not be fond of me. But I still want to know who you are and why you are that particular who.

Hey Ben! So you're up early too, huh? I liked your blurb here and just wanted to drop by and say hello, see how life's been treating you as of late. It sounds like we've got some nifty stuff to talk about, so if you've got a hot second, drop me a line, will ya? Hope you have a swimmingly good Sunday. Later gator...
