About Me:
Laidback (possibly recidivist) 44 year old looking to chat and exchange views on any interesting issues. Just looking for friendship, nothing more. I'm married and have a 9 year old son. I like to think I'm a tolerant and easygoing kind of guy. Constantly revelling in new technology - trying to work it out! I possess a startling imagination and a sense of humour perhaps best described as quirky. You have been warned! I am receptive to other opinions and am empathic by nature. Yeah really!
Just look at these testimonials....
"Mark is a great inspiration in my life and I have immense respect for him" - Paul McCartney
"I couldn't have won the Presidency without Mark's help and enthusiasm" - Barack Obama
"Yeah, Mark's usually OK but he doesn't eat his vegetables" - my wife
"Dahlink, you're soooo 20th century" - Zsa Zsa Gabor
What more can I say......

Requests:
I would love to hear from anyone alive preferably, male or female, 30 to 50 would be good, particularly in Europe, North America and Antipodes (er, thats Aus/NZ). Sorry, I'm not looking for any Brit pals though.
No proposals of marriage or desire for thermo nuclear bonding, please, (my wife really wouldn't appreciate it) no requests for money or stuff like that. No nymphomaniacs or kleptomaniacs, or people who can't even spell their name correctly or says "How ur yu" etc. Anyone who wants to leave their multimillion fortune contact me right now!

Interests, Hobbies, etc.:
Watching football/soccer (I follow King's Lynn - the mighty Linnets - and Norwich City if I'm desperate), playing badminton. Photography, Reading (see below), Politics, current affairs. Travelling in Europe and North America. My family including two always hungry cats and three guinea pigs....
Favorite Music:
Generic and eclectic Rock, 70's and 80's, all good stuff! Sheryl Crowe, Maddy, Crowded House, Talk Talk, ELO, Supertramp, Genesis, Simple Minds, U'vox, Icehouse, Madness, Howard Jones, Blondie, Rats, Texas, Traveling Wilberies, Police, Stranglers, Roxy Music, Natalie Imbruglia, K T Tunstall, Howard Jones, Gerry Raff, Fleetwood Mac, Deutches neues welle, Rainier Wolfcastle's Skiffle Band etc....
Favorite Movies:
Black comedy (Dr Strangelove, Closely Observed Trains), Ice Cold in Alex, Bad Day at Black Rock, The Caine Mutiny, Seventh Seal, Catch 22. Films with something of a purpose. Monochrone Britsh WW2 era films - perfect for Sunday matinees on C4/BBC2.
Favorite TV Shows:
Don't watch much these days, some comedy like My Name is Earl and Peep Show. I'm partial to Drop the Dead Donkey, The IT Crowd too. Plus Father Ted...
Favorite Books:
For fiction anything by Dean Koontz, Stephen King, Grisham, Bill Bryson, Desmond Bagley, Crichton etc. Football and travel.

"Gentlemen! You can't fight in here, this is the War Room" - Dr Strangelove
"Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!" - Monty Python
"If you imagine the Earth as a satsuma, Halleys Comet as a stick of celery, the Thorian nebulae as a piece of lettuce and the moons of Saturn as walnuts you've got either a good understanding of the interplay of cosmic forces or a half decent salad" Prof Stephen Hawking
"Hegel is a *anker". Wittgenstein
"Life's going nowhere, somebody help me yeah" - Bee Gees (Staying Alive)
"Pissing in his shoes keeps no man warm for long" - Icelandic proverb
