About Me:
Hey there!
My name is Rieke. I am a 21-year-old university student from Freiburg, southern Germany. Originally, I am from a small town near Dortmund, north-western Germany.
I have moved to Freiburg a few months ago and am absolutely in love with this city. I study German and Scandinavian language & literature.
Most of my time I spend on the campus, but I am always happy to find some free time.

I have been very active in penpalling a few years ago, but had to reduce the number of penpals because I simply had no time anymore.
Now I realize that I miss writing letters a lot and I would therefore love to find new penpals via this website.
I am especially looking for people from northern Europe {I am learning Swedish at the moment and want to start with Norwegian and maybe Icelandic soon..}, France, Great Britain, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

My father was stationed there and we lived there for 4 years. I loved the volksmarching and miss doing that. I am waiting for Friday night when the Dark Knight Returns comes out. Freiburg is a cool place and probably my favourite city in Germany. It has a good vibe and bit more relaxed than other parts of Germany.
Good luck with the Swedish, you should be able to learn it fairly quickly. I had an Austrian friend of mine who speaks it very well and he said having German as his first language did help him. I'm too lazy with German, the grammar bothered me too much.
