I have been a host now for 15 years to foreign students with an organization​ known as EF Language Travel.I look forward to this year and until June 09 having a German guy over of 16years. Im sure we shall have a great year.

At the end of June 09 I would like to part from EF after many happy years but continue to host students on a private basis,and work with the family direct.This means fees will be set in negotiation with the immediate family hence a cheaper deal all round.

Im very interested over the next few months to start contact with a family/stude​nt that may be thinking of a year abroad Starting September 09 until summer 2010.
Im of the mind that as soon as contact has been established with a student communicatio​n should follow,in order for a smoother intergration​ into the uk,chance to get to know each other and ask any questions well in advance of placement.

Students have been in the age range from 15 to 17 in the past/present​ly. In dealing more directly with a family I would hope for a younger student from any european community (has to be from within europe with regards to education )My ideal placement would be from 12 to 15 years. This may sound young for a student to go abroad to study, but i find from experience that foreign students tend to be far more mature and responsible that there english peers.

I do believe this to be a genuine good deal and i have students/fam​ilies from past placements ( speak german ) that would be happy to talk about their childs placement here in the uk.

I have in the past helped out students who needed help with cost to flights/main​tenance while in placement.So​ please do not let this stand in the way of your childs experience of studing here in the uk.
