About Me:
Hello world,
I'm starving for contact with the world outside the U.S.! I'm not sure how else to describe me.... I'm a pretty avid reader and film buff. I find myself doing random 'happy dances' when I think no ones looking. I'm that friend who will make eye contact with you from across a room just to do something silly and get a laugh (I conveniently forget that other people can see me too). I'm generally good natured, good for a laugh, and almost annoyingly optimistic. I love to cook, travel, explore... I'm a recent graduate building my career and dealing ever so cooly with the real world (that's sarcasm, but I really am doing my best). Basically, I'm just looking for friends and connections out there, thousands of miles away, in places that interest and fascinate me!

Requests:
Anyone with a willingness to open up and start a conversation will be more than welcome. I have a bit of a fascination with Europe (it is where the history comes from, as Eddie Izzard says)... but I'm open to learning about anywhere and everywhere =)
I'm always curious, so tell me, what's your favorite thing about where you live?

Interests, Hobbies, etc.:
Films, books, travel, health and wellness, learning about things that peak my interest (if you're not learning, you're dying in my opinion)... cooking and dancing (though seldom at the same time, it's a coordination issue really)... Essentially I like trying new things because life is too short to keep doing things you don't like
Favorite Music:
I listen to a little bit of everything (although lately, I've been going through an 80's flashback... that's right, Tears for Fears). I also adore the Beatles, Dave Mathews band, some Erika Badu, some Common... Pinback, Postal Service, Regina Spektor...
Favorite Movies:
Oh there are just too many to name... Amelie is up there, but so is American Beauty, Death at a Funeral, Juno, Starter for Ten, Bread and Tulips (Italian), Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Signs, .... I could go on. Generally, I like movies that make you feel good or make you think. What the Bleep Do We Know is one of those... it just has some concepts in it that makes you really start to wonder about the world in a metaphysical way.
Favorite TV Shows:
Criminal Minds is a favorite, as well as House, the simpsons, and Family guy
Favorite Books:
Lately I've been enjoying Jane Austen... I also really enjoyed The Lovely Bones and Perfume; the story of a Murderer... both unique stories. Oh! and The Alchemist, a wonderful and inspiring little book.
Favorite Quotes:
I imagine that yes is the only living thing. -- e.e. cummings
The body is not just a shell or a walking life-support system. It is your self intimately clothed in matter. -- Deepak Chopra
"Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read." --- Groucho Marx

Hi Karla,
No Winters aren't really 9 months in Scotland sorry, more like 9 months of wet season these days lol - hardly ever get snow, which is a shame! That rumour sounds familiar - would be a fantastic film I reckon - going to have to check that out. Thought there was something with Jonny Lee Miller in it... maybe getting mixed up Which state in the US do you live in and where did you grow up (state? Lots of snow?) I've got memories of my younger days and having loads of snow in the winter for a month or two and having great fun in it. Season's have all blurred these days. What book are you reading at the moment btw?
Speak soon if you like... Keith

Hello, a pleasure to meet you. Ive never been called well-rounded before. I can only hope you are correct in your assertion. You too seem the same. And im happy to see you are looking at the world outside of America. Living in Japan has taught me to appreciate things alot; as has 7 years of penpalling. I hope you can get out and see the world. Its never too late to explore.

Tears for Fears are great, and never let anyone tell you otherwise.
Blue Velvet, Lost Highway, Inland Empire, Twin Peaks. No honestly, most "movies" disappoint me - I can't get into popcorn movies. There are a few directors like David Lynch and the Coen Brothers who have a style of their own that I find quite captivating. Otherwise I'm very much more into well written witty and intelligent television shows. You can see my likes list on the profile! I'm a boxset freak - I just find with television (and I mean GOOD television, not canned sitcoms) the characters and their interactions have a chance to develop at a much deeper level. Plus if I love something, I need more 90 minutes of it - I want to see how it develops over seasons. I was recently introduced to Werner Herzog, I have his Fitzcarraldo but I have yet to find time to watch it. How about you? Tell me some stuff!
I might have to join the list of people who can not tell you the answer to your question. Having watched it a good few times now I am beginning to piece it together, but I think I need to watch it again to refresh my memory because I am not sure I can articulate my theory at the minute! Have you seen any other films by David Lynch? The latest one Inland Empire is about as extreme as it gets, at times almost a self parody - but nonethless amazing filmmaking.
