About Me:

Hello,  hallo, salut, добър ден, labas,  gamarjobat, namaste, assalaam alaycum, nomohshkar, tungjatjeta, zdravo, g’day, dobrý den, jó napot, dzień dobry, tena koutou, bunǎ ziua, zdravo, dobrý deň, pozdravlijeni, nǐ hăo, aisatsu, privet, awlright, tere, merhaba, buon giorno, hola, hej, dia dhuit, um waynuma?, tena koutou, nyale, annyeong, Kia ora.

Well I like to think that there is more to me than can be summed up in such a small box, but here goes.....I see myself as a creative person, although presently I am stuck in a job that is more or less the complete opposite (yeah, really don't ask!); I really enjoy playing or listening to music, that is probably the most important part of my life.

There is something in me that give me the drive to perform, so it is not unusual to find me clowning around, or going to extraordinary lengths to try and make really bad jokes work.

It might be best to put here as well, I am accepting of anybody and everybody, there is no way I am intelligent enough to make value judgements about people based upon their sexuality, race or religion.

I also have an interest in sports, I like rugby, a little bit of motorsport; I am also a fan of the outdoors, I like to be out on my bike, and I like a nice run in  the morning air.

Requests:

I am interested in all parts of Europe and Asia, and, of course, it is always good to hear from people across the pond in the USA or Canada. Generally if you are a genuine person, I am really looking forward to hearing from you, and even if you are not genuine it may be funny to see your act , so what the hell!

I am very willing to help people with their English, if I can.

It would be really nice to receive emails in German, but my German is not so great, I would very much like to try and improve it, any help would be gratefully recieved; I thought I was doing OK, but I was trying to show off in Austria a little while ago and I wanted to order some coffee and cakes for myself and my friends and I ended up with a hedgehog, an old tennis raquet and a bucket of warm gravel; of course we ate the hedgehog, but had nothing to drink!?!? I could really do with a bit of help people!

Aussi je parle un peu français. je voudrais s'améliorer ; pouvez-vous m'aider ? Avertissement ! Mon Français est très mauvais !

A quick note: If you are selling something, I am going to want a really good price, and if you need my bank account to move some funds after a recent death in your family, I want a 80-20 split in my favour, 10% up front....now look I cannot say any fairer than that.

Also if you are sane, that would be a real advantage...I suppose if you are not sane, being lucid would be the next criteria, but hey if you can manage neither of those...please be interesting!!

Addendum: I have this tune in my head does anyone know what it is: Do doo do da doo da doo doo daa?

Addendum 2: What on earth does less than 3 mean??

Language Exchange Requests:

I speak English and I am happy to help anyone in that respect.

I have very rusty German, which I would love some help to improve!

I would also like to improve my extremely basic French; as I really like Turkey I would very much like to try to learn a bit of the language.

Interests, Hobbies, etc.:

My main hobby is music. I play the guitar, bass guitar and a bit of piano. I like writing songs. I have been known to pound up and down a stage like a fool, when necessary.

I am very interested in history, from the ancient world and the medieval to more modern times; I am interested in the natural world, astronomy.

I like to watch a few sports: Rugby, Tennis and a little motorsport (F1 and WRC).

I play a few sports but I have said far too much here already, if you want to know more you're just gonna have to ask now aren't you.

Favorite Music:

I suppose to list a few favourites: Led Zep, Oasis, White Stripes, AC/DC, Pulp, Blur, Happy Mondays, Aerosmith, Queen, Free, U2, Beatles, Kinks, Rolling Stones (+many many more!)

Miles Davies, Django Reinhardt (again lots more really)

J.S. Bach, Mussorgsky, Chopin, Handel (and, one more time, loads of others!)

Favorite Movies:

The Machinist, Stranger than fiction, Zoolander, Trainspotting, Billy Liar, Fifth Element (or Filth Elephant as I spelled it before reading this back...what is going on in my head?), Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead, Koyaanisqatsi, Empire of the Sun.

Favorite TV Shows:

Don't watch much; I enjoy documentaries (Micky Palin's travels and both Long way down and long way 'round), and comedy such as Red Dwarf, Brittas Empire, Blackadder, Father Ted, Black books, Saxondale, Extras, Mighty Boosh (but if you don't get it, I can't explain it!).

Favorite Books:

History books; I love old Ghost stories (J.S LeFanu, M.R James etc).

Favorite Quotes:

If a man does not know to which port he is sailing, no wind is favourable - Seneca

We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars. - Oscar Wilde

That suit's sharper than a page of Oscar Wilde witticisms rolled into a point and dipped in lemon juice.

hey, David;)
really i'm always fine just tired after school and work. what about you, what do you do by the way? ah i think festivals are a great thing. aha thanks, again it's nice to hear but i just like to write, not only about vases and paintings;) i like to play with the words and somehow my language level can allow me to do it. creativity is not but there's such thing as ability. i do think that even without talent you can train, train, train and one day become a good at what you chose. but it won't be the same as in the case you're gifted. well i admit i'm good in writing words, but not music. but maybe if i went to a musical college, i'd got a good level in writing music. but i did not go, chose the other way. haha you mean people who are like a muses? no i think it's not that. i write when i have an inspiration, but it comes suddenly and all i have to do is to write the stuff coming into my head down=) thats all. of course i do have, my area is Renaissance, but i love impressionism, surrealism as well. ah i see i enjoy going to the galleries here, sometimes it's really worth seeing. yeah i know such type of behavior, people come to the galleries just to watch and pretend they want to buy smth. but it's ok. it's ok since just looking at the art is already something important. the art is open to everyone so it's no need to buy everything=)
ah i study irish too by myself but find it so much difficult, especially the pronunciation. ah i can't remember clearly, it was long ago when i first came to the interest in Eire. now i'm interested in its culture, history and music very much. and in a couple of years gonna move there for study and working. it's my aim. and i gonna there this summer for a month )

hope you had a great weekend;)

Well, thanks you^^ Maybe I'll put up more drawings later, I need to get a scanner. I mostly use a pencil, cause it's easier to erase my numerous mistakes, haha. Unfortunately, I don't draw that often anymore, I'm overloaded with my homework.
I have lots of favourite pieces and most of them were made by Rachmaninoff. Wow, you play the piano! I wish I could, but I don't have time for everything I want >.<
Well, I'm not a professional ice skater, so I can't do many things yet. But I'm working on it, haha. It's something I do in my spare time for fun. It relieves me from stress :)
Take care

hey, David;)
thanks, nice to hear you liked it.
you play guitar, right? professionally or just for yourself?
yeah i'm creative but i never could write music don't know why,
though i'm writing prose and verse;) and my work is closely connected with the art - paintings mostly, want to become a good art critic one day. i can't draw myself but at the same time i can't live without music. and one question more, are you from Ireland?
i see that you're learning irish.

see you, Belle

Hi David!
I'm pretty good, thanks. And you?
Well, thanks for taking time to check out those links :) I love Haggard a lot and I think they are kinda unique. Oh, I see you like classics too. Have you ever heard of a Russian composer Rachmaninoff?
To tell you the truth, I always critisize my drawings, haha. But thanks for saying it's good^^

Hi! I've been reading your profile and I think you've got similar music taste. I don't play any instrument, well, I used to play the keyboard when I was adolescent but only for fun, nothing special. But I do enjoy reading and writing like you enjoying playing and composing. So, if you wanna talk, feel free.

See you

Wow, du kannst aber gut Deutsch... ;-)
Mir geht es sehr gut, und dir?
Wie war dein Wochenende? Was hast du gemacht?
Warst du schon mal in Deutschland?

Yes, I too play the guitar. I mostly play rock music, or sometimes pop. I do play in a band. We cover a lot of rock songs but have recently started to get into song writing, which is also a lot of fun. Seeing a song develop from the first idea all the way to the very end...

And yes, I have written some songs but they are still stored in one of my drawers. For right now I consider them as too personal for being played on stage...
What about you? What kind of music do you play?

Well, yes, I love the guitar in my picture but it's so expensive... :-( What kind of guitar do you play? For now I'm using a cheap Career one, but everyone says it's just fine. I dream of buying that Ibanez one day, though... :-)

I have been only to a few concerts, but none of Queen. I was too young when Freddy was still alive, he died when I was 11 and I was not yet a proper Queen fan by that time. I still regret that I missed that chance.

I enjoy studying to become an English teacher quite a lot. I really looking forward to graduating and finding a nice job.

I have had a nice weekend, went to see my boyfriend, really missed him. What did you do this weekend?

Hi, David!
How are you?
I think I am going to give some rest to my hands. Maybe it will stop the pain. I´ve been writing too much this year because I am studying to get a public job.
I like to listen many brazilians songs. We have many different kinds of music. If you want, I can send you some youtube links with explanations about them. I enjoy listening bossa nova, samba de raíz, maracatu,Brazilian rock, sertanejo de raíz...
I used to be a ballet dancer and a ballet teacher. I used to teach in my own school. But, I always studied other kinds of dance, like Brazilian-afro dance, samba, jazz, modern, street dance...
I stopped to dance as a pro  in 2005, but I intend to return to dance. But, just as a hobby.
So, you went to Portugal! I have a friend there. Well, can you believe that the accent from Portugal is so different that sometimes I have to stop and  listening with attention. So, I can try to understand what they were talking about!
I love coffee and tea! Everyday I take mugs of coffee and black tea! Chá e café :)
I´ve seen "Holy Grail" and "The Meaning of Life". I have to see the others.I used to watch a tv series in EuroChannel, with one of them, but I really don´t remember the name. I liked it.
I haven´t seen Mighty Boosh. I don´t think it was released in Brazil. I remember I used to watch (don´t know if this is the right name): One Foot in the Grave, A bit of Fry and Laurie, KYTV,BlackAdder. They are old shows, but I really love it! Used to watch on EuroChannel, but I changed my cable tv operator and I don´t have this channel anymore.
Best wishes,
Regina
