My name is David; I have a lot of interests that I would very much enjoy discussing with people throughout the world!! I guess primary amongst my interests would be music, I enjoy playing the guitar,  bass and a few  songs on the piano. I like history, art and culture...so I guess ideally you would find me in a gallery or museum during the day, and at a gig listening to some loud music in the evening!!

I have no time for people who are sexist, homophobic or racist.

If you are sane, that would be a real advantage...I suppose if you are not sane, being lucid would be the next criteria, but hey if you can manage neither of those...please be interesting!!

I really like Turkey, I would very much like to try to learn a bit of the language.

Recently I have been following an audio course in Portuguese, I am quite happy with my progress, so I guess now is the time to be brave and ask for some help from Portuguese speakers!!

My main hobby is music. I play the guitar, bass guitar and a bit of piano. I like writing songs. I have been known to pound up and down a stage like a fool, when necessary.

I am very interested in history, from the ancient world and the medieval to more modern times; I am interested in the natural world, astronomy.

I like art, although I am not very knowledgeable...in the words of Monty Python: I don't know much about art but I know what I like!

I play a few sports but I have said far too much here already, if you want to know more you're just gonna have to ask now aren't you?

Classical:  J.S. Bach, Mussorgsky, Chopin, Handel (and, one more time, loads of others!)

The Machinist, Stranger than fiction, Zoolander, Trainspotting, Billy Liar, Fifth Element (or Filth Elephant as I spelled it before reading this back...what is going on in my head?), Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead, Koyaanisqatsi, Empire of the Sun.

Don't watch much; I enjoy documentaries (Micky Palin's travels and both Long way down and long way 'round), and comedy such as Red Dwarf, Brittas Empire, Blackadder, Father Ted, Black books, Saxondale, Extras, Mighty Boosh.

History books; I love old Ghost stories (J.S LeFanu, M.R James etc).
