About Me:

My name is Alex, I'm a 15 year old boy living in Fairfax, VA, A suburb of Washington DC. I'm currently enrolled at Northern Virginia Community College, and hope to move on to a degree in either political science, psychology, or possible something in sound engineering in a few years. I adore music, all kinds of music. Though I typically give metal, it's subgenres, and it's close ilk preference over other forms of music. I can sort of play the guitar, and am a vocalist in a thusfar unnamed metal band. I love politics, history and humanities in general. Above all though I love the people that make my life what it is. My wonderful girlfriend. My friends. My Father. and the acquaintances who are not quite friends yet but make existence special nonetheless.

I've met a few of the people who make my life special on this site, and I hope to meet more. I met my friends Emilia and Sierra, and am very happy to know them.

Hablo un poco Español.

Personality-wise I don't fully understand myself, so it's hard for me to explain what I'm like. I am many things to many people. In general though, I'm a very analytical. I'm very talkative, and adore it when someone can carry on an intelligent conversation about anything. I'm a xenophile, and adore talking to people who make me feel a little more connected to the world outside los Estados Unidos. I'm extremely sarcastic a good deal of the time. I'm random, but isn't everyone? I really love the darker elements of life, as well as carefree happiness that I try to have as often as possible. The sordid elements of life are beautiful to me in their own way, just as well as the romantic and inspirational ones are.

Requests:

Firstly, I'm really interested in making friends. It doesn't happen often, but I've made two of my best ever friends on this site. So essentially, I love meeting people… discussing their lives, discussing who they are, discussing my life and who I am, our outlooks on the world around us and just… anything. Life is beautiful (except when it's not x] ) and I just… like to take in as much of it as possible, and hopefully be able to share as much of it as possible with as many people as possible.

I am incredibly fascinated with politics. I don't care what your viewpoint is, where you're from, or how old you are, I love hearing different people's takes on current events, different sides of the stories, and just… general discussion… I have a bit of a leftist bent (okay, a bit is an extreme understatement, but generally during discussion I tend to tone down my biases as much as I possibly can…).

So drop me a message about anything… I live for human discussion…

Well, no, honestly I live for a hell of a lot of things…

But human discussion is one of them.

Or hell, just randomly surprise me on Skype, MSN, AIM, or Yahoo some time. It's all good.

I love the rare event of making a good friend on the internet, but even if we only talk once, I'll be glad to have met you.

Language Exchange Requests:

Taking Spanish 101 at the local Community College soon… anybody who can help me with Spanish is welcome to… I must admit though, I really am completely ignorant of how the language exchange process work. So… you're also agreeing not to comment on my ignorance of the process if you chose to engage me in a language exchange. Can't really help with anything other than English, but will be happy to help with that.

Interests, Hobbies, etc.:

History, Politics, Religion, Theatre… there are more, but I'm too lazy to fill this in right now.

Favorite Music:

Rammstein, Mushroomhead, Slipknot, Marilyn Manson, Rage Against the Machine, Psyclon 9, Apocalyptica, Goatwhore, Vera Lynn, Metallica, Nirvana, Pink Floyd, After Forever, The Agonist, Black Sabbath, Eazy-E, N.W.A., DAM, The Doors, Emigrate, System of a Down, Walls of Jericho. etc. etc. etc.

Favorite Movies:

Saraband, Casablanca, Paradise Now, the list goes on waaaaaaay too long.

Favorite Books:

A long list… crowned by the works of Paco Ignacio Taibo II

Prozac seemed to make me better at first... now it doesn't seem to do anything. They added Welbutrin onto it but that doesn't seem to do anything either. I'm deciding on whether to overdose or not. I don't have anyone to keep me happy. My mom yells at me all the time and drinks alot and threatens to kill herslef, my dad is like the opposite but his mindset is very closed and he thinks he's always right even when he's not... he doesn't think depression is real so he really doesn't understand me much at all.
The Spanish classes in my school seem to move so slow... plus I have nobody to practice with so I'm really just screwed. I honestly need to get checked for being bipolar because these mood swings are killing me.

I never do anything. :( I honestly don't know why I'm not dead by now. I don't do any school work anymore and am going to fail, and even if I graduated, it's just another 40 years of a lame job, working to pay off college debts and "make a living". What a shitty world. Nothing to look forward to.

I have no motivation either. And my happy pills don't seem to give me any. :( Yeah, honestly, society sucks.

To be honest, the only reason I started Spanish is because school made me... 5 years later I still suck at it. My class isn't teaching me ANYTHING this year, we just like sit there and do nothing. It's pathetic. I was going to work to fluency but I honestly am giving up on everything right now. They talk so fast.

Also, apparently English is easy to learn (besides some irregular stuff). A lot of people from foreign countries say they easily learned English. Maybe that's why the UN is forcing it to be taught to most other countries lol.

I'm never productive, I'm just a naturally tired person. :(

Oh okay. Yeah I think I know some people who take college credits in my school...
Lol! To be honest I kind of don't blame him though. :P

Finally, someone else understands! Learning another language is NOT easy, not matter what language it is. Especially if you're raised to only speak one! In other countries they're brought up to speak 2 or 3... after a certain age your brain is done programming so it kind of sucks if your parents don't teach you shit. =/ Also everyone on here speaks English for some reason, even if they really can't. Like I've talked to people from Korea who write in their profile that the only language they speak is English, but you can totally tell they're using an online translator because half the stuff they write makes no sense whatsoever.

HEY!!! I love how you redid your profile. It makes you sound like you are more approachable.. wait, that sounded a bit rude. Um-- I'm not sure how say it, but I just like the way you've worded everything. Very nice :)
But yeah, I replied to your email. You are too sweet. My reply rambles a bit, but that's me.
I like the new pics too. I haven't been on here in a few months it seems so most of this is new to me. I'll talk to you later hopefully.
Oh! I have two random piece of info to tell you about 1.) I pulled a ham string and 2.) I'm getting my hair cut today. So yeah. There ya' go :) really, ttyl :P
