Good friendships can often be quite elusive. I think the main reason is: there are no definitive standards for how to build a good, strong friendship with someone. Having said that, then that leaves us to use our common sense and a kind of wing-it approach.
My OWN common sense tells me that it takes TWO "contributing"​ people to have a successful and satisfying friendship. THAT means BOTH parties should be showing an interest in each other's lives.
There should be a fairly even exchange of ideas, questions and conversation​.
I am not interested in "pretend"​ friendships where the other person is only interested in talking about themselves. Nor am I interested in another type of "fake"​ friendship where the other person rarely initiates any conversation​ but is dependent on ME to keep the conversation​ going. I am also not interested in the "secret"​ type of friendship, where someone is not interested in sharing things about their personal life.
Sometimes people are just TOO EAGER to become "someon​e's friend"​ .
even though they have absolutely nothing in common with the other person. There are SOME who want to be added to one's friends list without any prior conversation​s. I'm sure you have seen THAT before.
A good friendship to me means honesty, and vulnerabilit​y because of personal things you have shared with the other party. Honesty also means saying what you mean or feel (in a kind way) and not holding back because you are afraid of confrontatio​n.
A good friendship also means having an open mind. This means not being judgmental and realizing that you cannot possibly walk in someone else's shoes to understand why someone has a certain view about something.
A good friendship is really about love, touching someone's heart because of the time and interest that you put into the friendship. A good friendship is a meeting of the spirits ..... I am talking about the spirit that we all have as a person.  A person's looks are are only skin deep and are subject to change as we age. So, we have to look beyond the looks and see what is in a person's heart and soul.
THERE you have it....MY thoughts on what I am looking for in a friendship. :)
P.S. I don't pressure anyone to be my friend or to write back to me right away, but after 2 weeks if I haven't received a reply, then I will assume you have lost interest in having a friendship and I will remove you from my friendslist.​ Not interested in fly-by-night​ friendships.​

I like MOST movies but not big on comedies - some of them are just so stupid LOL. I prefer drama (happy, sad, those that make me think and  those that can stir up an emotion in me). I like movies about people dealing with REAL LIFE issues. Love stories  are also nice.

I am kind of funky when it comes to reading books. I like to read the same book 2 times in a row..... I find the second reading so much more enriching as there is always stuff you miss or forget from the first reading. That's my story and I'm sticking to it,,LOL
