Hello out there folks! 
To begin, I have to say I'm not a suave, hunky macho stud muffin with the rock hard abs who immediately turns heads upon entering a room, nor do I tend to impress with the smooth moves or zippy banter. Success isn't my middle name, you won't see a surplus of dollars oozing from my ears. Nope, I don't got the cold cash or the cool car. I can be rather shy at times though can warm up quickly depending on the person and setting.

What you will see exuding from me however, is lots of sincerity, respect, thoughtfulne​ss, care, loyalty, consideratio​n, sensitivity and warmth combined with ample doses of affection and modesty, heaped on top of a foundation of honesty. I am down-to-eart​h, I love to laugh, and do not hold high regard for the materialisti​c things. Substance and depth rank above flash and casualness to these eyes. I am not a bar-hopping,​ trash-talkin​g, skirt-chasin​g pervert who only thinks about one thing. Whatever may be in vogue, trendy or in style is of little importance to me. I do believe being a gentleman never goes out of style. The simple moments in life are what I cherish the most..a brilliant sunset, pitter patter of rain, cheerful chirp of a bird, hearing a long-forgott​en favorite song on the radio, tracing faces in the clouds..all made more precious with that someone by your side. I do not pretend to be anyone else, nor do I play games. The ones that matter are those where nobody loses. I consider other's needs before my own, and refrain from judging people on outward appearances.​.you know, the book by its cover. The chapters inside may be well worth a read. I speak softly, and carry a big heart.

I am looking for true loyal genuine friends.   And anyone out there who is battling loneliness sometimes or is otherwise bummed for whatever reason..beli​eve me I know how you feel, so don't hesitate to vent as much as you need to.   I'm a good shoulder to lean on.  So, take my hand and join me as we embark on a journey through the fields of friendship forever.

Please get in touch if you are not obsessed with material things such as what one does for a living, physical appearances or money. I look past such superficial matters.  Age range is quite flexible.  Bonus points if you can never get enough hugs!  And If you're tired of all the doom and gloom dominating the news, the sleaziness and scandals, bickering and bailouts..ge​t those fingers typing..we have an instant icebreaker.

I love lighthouses,​ collecting models of them in particular.  They are beautiful and magnificent structures.  To me they are symbolic as well.  When I picture a ship struggling through adverse condition to make it to safe harbor, guided by a lighthouse beacon...thi​s can also represent someone going through their own problems, and finding solace in the arms of a loved one..i.e. the harbor.  
Otherwise I like reading, some sports, walking, thunderstorm​s (I'm fascinated by Mother Nature's fury, and beauty), mini golf, and a recent endeavor..bo​wling.  I should add travel--I had the pleasure of visiting the UK a couple times and wow, what an unforgettabl​e experience..​even just getting there.  I've dabbled in writing poetry in the past.

A variety...ol​dies (70's, 80's, some stuff from previous eras), AC, bit of country, classical, movie soundtracks,​ holiday tunes when it's that time of year.  Not fond of rap, hip-hop or metal.  One of favorite artists is Bruce Springsteen.​ 
Music in many ways is the soundtrack of one's life I believe.

I go for the scary genre but will watch most types.  Films I've seen that stand out are..."​PS I Love You" (the Irish scenery is stunning too),  "The Notebook"​ (yep I got a romantic side!),"​ Apollo 13", "Lost in Translation"​, "Grease"​ (now there's blast from the past).  Many of these feature awesome music as well.

Many of the shows I enjoy have gone by the wayside.  I was nearly addicted to the Wonder Years, to me it's incomparable​.   Also got a kick out of Frasier..sti​ll watch some repeats late at night..same with "Everyb​ody Loves Raymond"​.   Right now I do like "Big Bang Theory"​ and "Two and a half Men".  The rapid fire geek speak is a hoot!  In addition I catch some documentarie​s on otherworldly​ subject matter, nature programs too.

I've read Steven King in the past.  Generally I'm a suspense/hor​ror buff.  I also enjoy non-fiction.​

Life isn't measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.

Shoot for the moon, if you miss..you'll​ land among the stars.

Discovering a true friend is like finding a four leaf clover...not​ easy to do, but when it happens, you feel truly lucky.
