About Me:

Hey (whoever you are) ! I am not exactly very good with words and describing myself just make things worse. Anyway, here's my feeble attempt.

I am from Singapore, a sunny little island which is affectionately described by our closest neighbour as a small red dot. As Singapore is quite small, life can get quite mundane when the same stuffs get repeated over and over. Thus, I've always love to travel to different places, experience new cultures which will definitely help to broaden my perspectives of things and life. I study engineering in school, which isn't exactly exciting. In my free time, I love to sleep, read manga, watch anime, do a little sports here and there and try something new if I have the chance.

I will try to answer every message. There are times during the year when I am loaded with tonnes of projects and reports and barely have enough time to sleep, or maybe times, when I am just plain lazy. Nevertheless, I will always try my best to reply all messages I receive.

Requests:

Anyone who won't disappear after 2 emails, able to type more than one sentence and  love to travel.

Language Exchange Requests:

I can speak and write english with certain proficiency (studied it ever since I was three).
Chinese is a little more tricky since I have almost stop using it since I was 19.

Interests, Hobbies, etc.:

Manga, anime, computer games, soccer

Favorite Movies:

Love me if you dare (french), Life is beautiful (italian), 7 years in tibet, Eternal sunshine of a spotless mind, Cinderella man, Secret (chinese),

Favorite TV Shows:

Prison break

Favorite Books:

Tuesday with morrie, Freakanomics, Harry potters

I'm returning your compliment with 2 postings or rather I'm copying you... haha

Tell us about it, we were pretty surprised too that In-ho (that’s his name) likes Vegemite. He is pretty adventurous when it comes to food and so far all that he has tried since he’s been here he likes them. He even likes banana and honey on toast which is another one of my fav breaky.

There’s always a first time in everything though sorry I can’t return the compliment to you saying yours is the longest post I have on my wall. I have had a fair few long ones, I think if I’m not mistaken I have a posting as long as 3 parts… haha
We're pretty long-winded people right? haha

It’s currently the last month of autumn here and next month winter. Winter where I am is not that cold just the occasionally few days and nights, compare to Sydney, Canberra or Melbourne or Tasmania we’re mild as. BTW, how did you brace the cold in Denmark after Singapore?

Sorry I’ve no idea my post got cut off, I didn’t double check, my apology again. Continuation:-

I’m in my 3rd year, all up 4 yrs, might do my masters after this or get a 9 to 5. I also looked at the option of a stewardess, a cheaper way to travel the world. I’ll see what will happen, I haven’t really make up my mind yet and since I have 1 1/2 yrs to decide I can take my own sweet time about it.

You’ve got it right “Hejsan, hvordan har du det?” means “Hello, how are you?” and one would answer “Tack, bra”  meaning “Fine, thank-you”.

Salad one of my fav, well I have a lot of fav when it comes to food. One must eat to live or according to one of my pal she live to eat… haha. Do you have any fav food?

Danish butter cookies are quite popular here in Aussie too, it comes in a tin with a few varieties inside it. Speaking of that we have a tin of it in our pantry, I’ll go get some to nibble on, feeling a little peckish hearing you talk about it.

I’ve been to Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Bali, Hong Kong and Szenchen that’s about it, not many. I would like to go to Korea but my mum is not too fuss about Korea food though she loves Korean dramas heaps. Since I’m still financially dependent on my parents currently I go where they dictate for hols. My mum prefers to go back to Malaysia to see all her relatives and friends and usually from there we tend to decide on another destination. What about you, where have you venture to besides where you are currently?

Yes it does, one could have a bad mishap or maybe worse die learning it… haha
Actually we have quite close ties with Denmark, one of our local girl married Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark. I know basic Danish e.g. Hejsa, hvordan har du det? + a few others.
So far it seems you have adapted well to the place and people, what about the food? I don’t think I’ve ever tried Danish food before except for one or two kinds of pastries.

I think I know the feeling, it’s the same with me when it comes to travelling. Since I stay in a western country I have no notion to visit another e.g. US, UK. I prefer to go to exotic countries like Asia which to me are much more mysterious compare to a western country eventhough I’m an Asian myself.

I think in most Aussie household, we have a bottle of Vegemite in our fridge, it’s like part of an Aussie heritage and yes I kinda like it once in a blue moon. Our homestay Korean student he digs it heaps, that’s what he has on his toast most morning. Vegemite is equivalent to Marmite in Malaysia and Singapore and there’s Bovril the beef counterpart.

Let’s see, I recently used the word dish in describing a guy. To others dish is something one consume and there’s dig as in like whereas to others it means digging a hole. There’s barbie as in BBQ and not the doll. Brisbane is known as Brisvegas associated with LV but less flashy. There’s BYO meaning bring your own since there are unlicensed restaurant here where one has to do so with one’s alcohol. My term for it is buy your own, over here there are heaps of men, mostly older men who goes overseas to get very young wives, hence my term of byo and by the mismatch of age and young babies one can know it’s so. There are too many to list out, just for you I’ve found a A to Z site of Aussie slang - http://www.koalanet.com.au/australian-slang.html Happy Looking!

I’m in my 3rd year, all up 4 yrs, might do my masters after this or get a 9 to 5. I looked at the

Potato language that's funny... haha If I have a potato in my throat I probably will die choking first before I can speak Danish... haha
I presume your syllabus is in English right? Things exchange students can get away with, the world is so unfair, no justice at all... haha

Mugging... a very unusual term for revising or studying for exams. I'll remember that, may I have your permission to use this copyright of yours in future? I kinda like it being termed this way.

I should change my major to philosophy seeing that it's like a second nature to me... haha
My major accountancy and as you've said it in your profile which isn't exactly exciting. In case you're gonna ask why this major in your next posting I'll save you some breath, probably for the love of other people's money... haha

Did you manage to learn some Danish before you left or did you wing it? It's a great way to see and learn a different culture. Can you apply again to go somewhere else next year or is it just a chance of a lifetime?

I'm a Aussie born and bred. My parents are the immigrants. They studied in Aussie during their heydays and fell in love with this continent. Lifestyle and education wise are so much better here, they vowed that they'll never put their children thru the strict education system in Malaysia, all they do back there is study, study and more study even on the weekends, school and tuition takes up all their time that there's no playtime at all unlike here weekends are strictly for enjoyment, one can never get back one's childhood when it's gone. Geez I sound like a philosopher... haha
