nah, it didnt change my opinion about australia at all. Yea I basically lived just a couple stops away from the city centre. It was convenient location however unfortunately I didnt get to meet and hang out with that many people.
Jake enjoys Germany, especially since everything is so cheap here compared to Australia. I remember the first weeks he would always come home from the shops with a big bag full of goods showing me the receipt, being super excited about how less he spent. :D I think he just sometimes misses his country,... perhaps peoples mentality. easy-going life... I like that better in OZ too. e.g. at the supermarkets over here they always in a hurry and brush u off.
I love australians just go grab a drink at a pub by themselves and easily get in touch with strangers. People would never do that over here. They always go out in groups, whether its for a drink or to a club, there s really not much of a chance to meet new people.

Well Swedish, Norwegian and Dutch are quite similar to German. So it shouldn't be that hard for you anymore. But I know whats it like to stay motivated teaching yourself.
Yea I liked Melbourne, not Victoria University tho as I learned **** all than expected. I lived in Kensington. Do you know that suburb? After 3,5 months I moved to QLD to live in Townsville and Mackay with Jake. He got transferred to Mackay so we were stuck there until he decided to give up his job and come with me to Germany. Thats nearly 2years ago now... wow. I think he wants to move back to Australia one day. He is originally from Brisbane but I think for media jobs Melbourne would be a good place as I m not a big fan of Sydney. Melbourne clearly left a strong impression on me: fainted in 40 degrees at the beach, being protected from some sleezy guy by 3 army guys, finding next rent money on the street, best coffees oh and not to forget I never went on a tram with so many crazy yelling bogans before... ;) haha. I think u just have to change the "4 seasons in a day"- thing. :D
