About Me:

New Update: For those that I am already penpals with, and for those that wish to be penpals with me, I am going to forewarn you that my letters will not be as frequent as they have been previously due to doing studies and have the need to be nose-deep in books in order to gain the degrees I so desperately need. There will be a break for a few days here and there, but at the most I will be writing letters once per month until my studies are over and done with.
--------------------------------
I like to have a good laugh and exchange ideas. I'm born in the UK , so yeah, I'm british.. still. But reside in Sweden since the past two decades with my wonderful kids who are soon of age to move out and explore the world for themselves. I have five wonderful kitties too, whereof three of them are posted here on the site.
*************************************************
In a few years time, if all goes as planned, I will be moving down to Ozland (Australia) to be with my Fiancé. :) So, hoping to gain friends from Australia too, on this site.
*************************************************
I'm not always present here on the site even though the little  icon is green. Most times I'm  in afk mode, away from the actual computer doing other things around my pad.
*************************************************
UPDATE:
Please don't ask me to add you to my Friend's List before we have actually made initial contact and exchanged snail-mail addies or letters  first.
I'll swap/trade used postage stamps, cooking recipes, FB's BUT I wont do money!

Requests:

Searching for snailmail friends, because I think that handwritten letters should still be considered as an art and never forgotten  due to the internet era has come.. :)

I'd also like to find friends that are willing to swap used postage stamps.

Miserable bills  dont  give smiles, but handwritten, personal  letters from penpals do!
***************************************
Seriously,  I LOVE getting  handwritten letters, and I have  no limitation on how many penpals I gain.
I DO write long letters, quite often  more than 4-5 pages (A5 sized).
So if you wanna be a snailmailing penpal, please do drop me a line and I'll respond to you in turn!

***************************************
I would like  snailmail pals from all around Europe, including Scandinavia such as Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark and Iceland.
Also interested in  pals from South Africa.. oh and other places too!

***************************************
NOTE:Many people keep messaging me, asking me to be their E-pal, but I'm afraid to say that I don't do Email or Epost, it rather defies the purpose of   handwritten letters! So if you want an E-pal, go  to the next profile please.
***************************************
To those who try flirt with me, please don't bother.
Anyone who asks me to email them in the first message will be ignored.
Anyone who tries to flatter me by  writing 'hello darling' or hello angel' or anything of the equilavent will also be ignored.
Anyone who  doesnt read my profile first before sending out  their usual 'hook-on-me' script will be ignored.
Especially those who  go into detail how beautiful I am, when I don't have a real photo of myself posted on the site, will be ignored.

Language Exchange Requests:

Roughly about three decades ago French was my second language, but since I moved to Sweden and  was told it was more important to learn Swedish than continue with the French.. well..  I forgot my French..  and now I would like to  spruce it up a bit, so I don't forget it entirely (LOL). Thus, I would like to have someone to help teach me Francais..  but not write entire letters with the language as I would only get lost on it, a little translation would help too :)
*************************************************
I can speak fluent English however, and I speak fluent Swedish too..  so I can help others with those languages.
*************************************************
NOTE:IF you would like for me to write  you a letter in Swedish then you must tell me, since Swedish is not my mother language, then  writing in English will be my first choice unless you point it out to me. :)
*************************************************
I would also like to learn Norwegian..  I did used to have a friend in Norway but he dropped off the face of the earth so to speak. But he did write letters in Norwegian, which I was able to understand because it has certain similiarities with Swedish, unlike Danish or Finnish or even Icelandic, which I would like to learn at some point too!

Interests, Hobbies, etc.:

I have been an active collector of postage stamps since my mother 3 years ago passed away and left me with a whole box of such after her working years. I have now more than 5 fat albums absolutely filled with these fascinating pieces of coloured paper. :P And I have absolutely no intention of stopping.

Note: This does not mean that I only want to trade postage stamps and not write letters! I like combining letters -and- stamps! So if you come my way and want to swap stamps with me (real old fashioned ones, not label stamps) then you'll be getting a long letter with a decent amount of stamps in turn!
*************************************************
I also like photography and will do nature shots to anything small and teeny like abstract objects.

However,  since my printer is being a  dork, everything that I photograph will be posted online if you would be interested in viewing.
*************************************************
Culinary experiences that paint and pattern my palette is also one of my hobbies. But everyone can make food.. right? Sure, if they use the cookbook. But I like to experiment further than that, express my thought in  foods! And hope my kids will approve, LOL.

If you'd like to swap recipes I'll  be willing to do this too!
*************************************************
I also like crafting jewellery pieces.  Sometimes I re-string old necklaces, sometimes I try to make 'vintage' necklaces, as those I think are actually the prettiest around. Simple, neat yet elegant. :)

Unfortunately I do not swap jewellery stuff. These items I sell.
*************************************************
At the current moment I am refining my clay art, as I like to use polyclay (Fimo, Premo, Cernit, Sculpey).

You will be able to see my pieces in my 'Clay Art' album as I make them.

Favorite Music:

It actually depends all on the mood. I know I prefer to not listen to Bluesgrass..  I simply cant stand that type of music at all. I could listen to  the smoothgoing strokes of some symphonic orchestra one day and then listen to alternative  rock or indie the next.

A little taste of what bands I do like.. but not saying this is  the only list I do like:
Metallica, Nightwish, Within Temptation, Pink, Nickelback, Coal Chamber, Evanescence, Rammstein, U2, UB40, Guns'n'Roses, Anouk, Enigma, Enya, Skunk Ananasie, AC/DC and many many more.

Favorite Movies:

Long Kiss Goodnight with Geena Davis, Ice Age

Favorite TV Shows:

This too pretty much varies on the actual mood that I'm in, or if I even get the chance to watch the  TV by getting permission from the kids. LOL.

Otherwise I like NCIS,  most CSI shows, House (I wish all doctors were like him), MacLeod's Daughters (pity they wont do any more seasons), Stargate Atlantis (have to wait until March before they send it again *grumble*), The Closer, Jane Doe, any homestyling show that's on..  and I'm quite sure  there's a bunch more that I do watch but can never remember the   titles.. *laugh*

Favorite Books:

I don't  get much time to read that many books nowadays, though I  still do have a couple of all-time favourites:

If you like horror stories then you should find Domain by James Herbert, it's all about mutated rats taking over London after a nuclear blast!

And then  I have a book that I've had since I was a kid.. my Grandpa gave it to me 1976.. but I think it's still on the market. The title is "Rufus - the story of a fox" by Ernest Dudley. It's a true story about a fox kit that was found and how it grew up in a human family.

The third book I would like to recommend to all ye cat lovers out there..  "The Silent Miaow" by Paul W. Gallico .. a rather amusing manual for kittens, strays and homeless cats, where the author goes into describing the  point of view from the actual kitty.

Favorite Quotes:

To be or not to be - Shakespeare
