About Me:

Kind-hearted smartass, lookiing for some companionship to kickstart my journey back into life....

More? Oh, alright....

Well, I'll try not to bore with the usual "I'm a kind-hearted, romantic, sensitive person, who is open-minded, loves to meet new people, especially in the pursuit of learning about different languages and cultures from all over the world" spiel, it gets a wee bit tiresome after reading a few profiles. But, that does express who I am, overly romantic with a zany sense of humour that sometimes leads me to be a bit of a smartass. I'm not looking to sweep a woman off her feet, (unless I'm playing footie.... nooo I keed I keed), It could happen I suppose, but I'm more interested in friendship/penpalling with people from all over the world, to exchange cultural tidbits and lively conversation with. I'm an English teacher at the college level and have no problems with helping out a little with one's English, although my grasp of hip hop language is whack, yo.

Requests:

No marriage proposals plz, I no longer fit into a size 4, it just...wouldn't...work. And no money transfers either, I live on an income of rocks and leaves much like the rest of the world.

Interests, Hobbies, etc.:

One of my favorite current hobbies deals with keeping Google Maps in check...I like to gather a group of friends (the more the merrier) and collectively look up at the sky and flipping the middle finger while shouting in a George Carlin-esque manner "Hey eye in the sky, $%&# you!!!" I also enjoy watching old movies, sporting matches, reading books of many genres, music of all kinds, especially that of native peoples from around the world, spending time at the beach, playing football (soccer to us yanks).

Favorite Music:

All kinds, I am very open minded in this area, except for contemporary country music and hip hop.

Favorite Movies:

So many, almost anything involving knights and fair ladies, old movies from Hollywood's golden era...

Favorite TV Shows:

Not many, I don't watch much tv..

Lovejoy
Due South
classic tv like Nick at Nite

Favorite Books:

Classic literature, the Trouser Press Guide to Alternative Music....

yeah, you're right about that. But it is also a dilemma to me you know. Sometimes I want to keep my step slower, but the reality wouldn't let me.Oh well, I suppose I can only do that once in awhile for after...30 years, haha.

oh,Thai food? I've heard most of the dished are spicy and sour at the same time. As I'm not a big fan of spicy food, I've never really tried any of them. But I did enjoy taco with spicy sauce when I was in America. It is difficult to find delicious taco here in Taiwan.

What a coincidence! I enjoyed my time in St.Louis,it is a great place. I just went to South Dakota and Missouri this summer, well, my first time abroad. I like it there very much, so that makes me want to study there. I'm planning going there again next summer, but haven't decided where to though.

oh,I have heard of ESL, but I don't know much information about it. Literature can be interesting at times, but when it comes to tests, I will struggle for that, haha. I'm working on William Wordsworth and Blake, their poems are very...profound i would say. About universities, I have 2 friends who are in interships in Indiana University, Pennsylvania, English major. I think it might be a good choice. So do you have any suggestions?

haha, I warned people in my profile that I'm talkative, I guess that backs off many people :P

Hello Mark,
hahaha, silly man? I suppose it's good to be silly sometimes, or life would be really boring:P

oh, that was chicken with rice. I was in a Taiwanese restaurant when I was in St.Louis. I've been in the states for 3 months without tasting a little bit of my hometown dish, so my friend took me there. ah...differences between Taiwanese and Chinese cooking...It's quite hard to explain, I think it basically different in materials and the ways of cooking. I apologize for being vague, I'll try to come up with something better to explain, haha.

haha, to be honest, I'm not good at linguistics at all, that gave me a hard time in sophomore year. I'm quite interested in translate and interpret area, would like to be an interpreter in the future. So I found a translation school in California,it is called Monterey Institute of International studies. But I'm still considering other universities with English Literature majors, that's good also.

Oops, seems like I talked too much, excuse me:P
