English is difficult.  It's full of exceptions to every single rule and rules that even natives ignore. 
I don't believe I've read Baudelaire yet, but I'm sure he's on the course list for French Literature.  We're starting with fables on Monday, beginning with "Le Roman de renard."​

the vacation was fine, different, what made it twice great, thanks) how about you?

So far, I've only read "Les Miserables,"​ "La Chanson de Roland"​ et Marie de France in French.  But I've also read some of Montaigne's philosophy and really enjoyed it. 
We do have the assimilation​ method, but that mostly means studying abroad.  All of my professors speak entirely in French though, and they get quite peeved if we chat in English, even before class starts.

I've been taking classes for seven years, but I took a break from it for two semesters recently, and I'm just now getting back into the swing of things with French literature.
