I am a married, monogamous, middle-aged man meandering through mid-life madness.  I enjoy distance running but the knees are wearing out.  In my life I have worked as a gas station attendant, a physical therapy transporter,​ in construction​, on a land surveying crew and, to the disappointme​nt of my father who was a civil engineer, became a physician.  I have lived long enough to learn many lessons the hard way and now, at a time when previous passions have become glowing embers, am enjoying the luxury of reflection.  In the last year I have discovered a love for reading and writing poetry, much of it Christian, and would welcome the opportunity of sharing along this line.  As with most people my age, I have dealt with disappointme​nt, death and depression, but underneath I am a firm optimist and see a lot of renewal and reason for hope. My  wife and I have one child (daughter), 5 nieces and nephews, 2 greatnephews​ and 1 greatniece.

University of Kentucky athletics, writing poetry (mainly Christian),
getting my hands in the dirt in our yard and watching things bloom,
watching the young ones grow!
