Of course the German society is prejudiced about foreigners and are talking shit sometimes. Unfortunately we can see this behavior in all western states in Europe or the U.S.A for example how our societies are prejudicing about the Islam and Muslims.
You will be safe, there are only a few areas where there were attacks on black people but there are max. 3-4 cases per year.

You will be safe in Germany we don't have a high criminal rate and not many homicides.
