About Me:

Hi, I'm a french language and music fanatic currently living in Graz, Austria (and I'm to stay there a long looong time). I'm studying to become a translator, und thus have the freedom to work at my place (that is, any place in Europe), following MY working hours. No sleeping before 5 am, no waking up before 11am, that's my motto =) ). I'm a bit pathologically drawn to everything that contains the words "north", "cold" and "rolled R's". Hence my project to move in Finland one day, at least a little while.

I would say, bravely notwithstanding a certain lack of originality, that I'm wissbegierig. If you don't speak german, just go and check it out  in any online dictionary :p I like to know how und why things and people work, and I really enjoy training myself to, well, enjoy things even more. Could sound a bit unsound (funny sentence to say), but that's the way it is.

I greatly enjoy reading, writing short stories and music (I play the guitar, the bass, thedrums, the piano and love to unearth  and master weird vocal techniques such as the tuvan over- and undertone singing, death metal growling or Tyrol yodel). Listening to music and people, strolling around under the rain with a bottle of yummy beer and talking with people individually, and about anything, as meaningless as it may seem, are some other pastimes of mine.

I like curious and humble people, who don't care about not knowing where life will lead them and don't consider the fact of taking one's time as a waste of time, but as a philosophy of life ^^

Well, there were so much more to say, but, ey, just contact me if you have some time to lose (and especially if you're of the "late bird" type, or if you live in an other time zone xD). At the only condition that you have MSN. I know from experience that I hate communicating only via e-mails.

Requests:

Please MSN only.

Language Exchange Requests:

Since I spend almost all my time reading, writing und learning knew words, and that I'm convinced the best way to enrich and appreciate your life better is to have the langage abilities to describe and say anything in all nuances you could think of, I'd say my level in french is way more than average. I'm also very patient und good at explaining how my own language works to foreigners. And I love answering questions :p

German. My favorite  ! I moved to Austria on September the 10th (09), and I intend to stay here at least 3 years, just to show you extent of my motivation and love for dialectal Germans. Contrary to my English, I still have to think about grammar while I'm talking, but I'm in  much less trouble to express myself, since I really feel connected to the language and have a richer vocabulary.

My English is nearly perfect, but I painfully lack vocabulary, and still don't feel at home with this langage. The understanding is however no problem.

As for my Finnish ... well I started to learn it on my own last year, and spent 4 months working hard on it, so that I reached a decent level (particularly as far as grammar and pronunciation are concerned). I have since then forgotten a loooooot, but I know it would come back very quickly if only I had a (tolerant ^^°) native to talk to. So, beloved finnish folk, if you want to initiate a language invasion in central Europe, I'll be the best willing victim you've ever had !

Interests, Hobbies, etc.:

I pretty much said everything above. Well, "everything" is such a restrictive word.

Favorite Music:

I hate that question ! And I hate even more to label music styles. Let's say I'll listen to anyting, as long as the artist doesn't take me for a fool and that I am in the right mood at the right moment. From Death Metal (and any possible kind of metal) to Jpop, and including rap, classical music, world music, techno and so many more, my entire days are melted with sounds. That's make silence more interesting.

Favorite Movies:

Martyrs (from Pascal Genet)
Voice letter (aka Mokksoli)
Old Boy (Park Chan Wook)
A table for four (Lee Su-yeon)

Favorite TV Shows:

Don't have the TV. But still, Dead Like Me and Weeds deserve all my admiration.

Favorite Books:

Mort Anonyme (Abe Kobo)
Schachnovelle (Stefan Zweig)
Die Radiotrinkerin (Max Goldt)
The Acid House (Irvine Welsh)

There are so many T_T

Favorite Quotes:

How should I know ? T_T

Was fasziniert dich eigentlich an Finland? The Burnt-Out Town of Miracles - sehr empfehlenswert!

Your English is nearly perfect? But there's a mistake in your self-description. It'd be "move to Finland" ;D
(I didn't mean to insult you, I just wanted to advise you of that)
However, your description's quite interesting. Amazing that you've 'learned' Finnish in 4 months. I've read that it's one of the most difficult languages to learn. >.>
