Sorry about that, was my English difficult to understand? I was just curious because St.Petersburg is a city I'm interested in, like Moscow. Where I live (Portland) there's really not much to see.

yes, I'd say I prefer the Russian "classic age" of literature over the later eras, especially the Soviet. Dostoevsky is one of my favorite writers, after all.
by the way, I meant to ask you what it's like living in St.Petersburg. I've always wanted to go there and see the Winter Palace.

hmmm... this Lermontov seems very interesting. he also painted? I think I might read some of his works. I still haven't read either Pushkin or Gogol yet, but I really enjoyed Dostoevsky, especially The Brothers Karamazov and Crime and Punishment. I also liked Turgenev. Have you read any of the soviet writers or Nabokov? he's another favorite of mine.
