I've been a speedcuber for about 4 or 5 years but to be honest I haven't practised all this time. I decided to take up one-handed training much later after I had learnt how to solve it using two hands. I took also lots of breaks so it wasn't a constant practice. So, I'd say it's like 3-4 years. :b

After some time of training you can easily talk with others and simultaneously solve your cube even with one hand. At this point it's really addictive because you don't really need to focus. You can do it everywhere and anytime. :b
