I don't think I'm quite familiar with how you're used to expressing your ideas the way you think I am. My definition of "knowing" something/someone is probably a bit different than yours.
And…"just a feeling"? Right on! It was too complicated for someone like me "to catch". That's why I made the mistake of saying something funny like "read the poem again", instead of trying to crack the codes hidden in your message. Hmm... My apologies, for I wanna make another mistake and repeat some parts of a famous quote of mine…I'll give you a hint: " تو از کجا میدونی؟؟؟". Shoot! I gave away the whole point! What have I done?! Eh, I still stand by that point very strongly anyway!
You don't know why I chose that line, so, it's best to read the poem as an "Art for art's sake" activity (or even maybe analyzing *the poem* itself), rather than analyzing what I meant by choosing that line and then implicitly telling me that I was wrong to think that way. Analyzing things, and then having your own criticism on them, is an amazing and necessary activity, but you need to have enough information to do something like that. We were not discussing a poem here, I wrote a line from a poem on my profile, and you really don't know why I did that, it's not the right place for an implied didactic-moral-of-the-story type of stuff.

Definitely, I may not perceive the poem as you do, but you know how I'm used to expressing things. What I copied was just a part of the poem to be faithful to the original text while still conveying my meaning, but what I exactly intended was a bit different and don't expect you to catch that. Just a feeling!! The clue: "wish".

BUT: "In fine, we thought that he was everything,To make us wish that we were in his place."
