CY30: Hi! Yes, I'm taking my master's program here in Umeå :)
CipherZero: Hi, thank you for the message! The cities in northern Sweden are quite small, so you can't really have "city life" here, but at the same time, it has everything you need at least (also cafes, pubs and some night clubs if you like going out) and they are all compactly organized, so in a way, it is very convenient :) And the best thing about living in northern Sweden is the great access to the nature. If you take a bike for 10~15min from the urban area, you will already be in the vast nature! And you can also see the Aurora Borealis from around September to April which is also stunning! As for Umeå (where I live), it's a great city for international students and a lot of French students are living here as well (and it seems like they mostly really enjoy the life here, at least the French people I have met)! Hope it will help you grasp the image of the life in northern Sweden! :)
