Yeah. At the very least, I'd like to testify that I know what I am getting myself into. Countless other soldiers have no clue- but I feel that in order for any change to come about in the first place, all of this is necessary.

No, I am doing it voluntarily, and I like the things that I am going to do. I don't like the reasons for which the military is regarded as being controversial though. I want to serve the people, not the whims of the government and big business.

Indeed! Additionally, after the high school level, there is ROTC, which focuses primarily on preparing students for the military. Through the program, students are trained to with the possibility of starting at the rank of 2nd lieutenant once they join. There are also military academies in which the students are called cadets. I have never attended one, but it seems to me that they focus most primarily on discipline.

A cadet is a student who is recieving some form of training from the military. I myself am a part of JROTC, and the program is designed to teach and develop leadership skills through means of the military. (For example, all of the teachers are retired veterans.) Though, I do plan on joining the U.S. Navy.
