About Me:
My name is Anja, I'm 30 years old and I live in Göttingen, a nice old city more or less in the centre of Germany.
I'm a nutrition scientist working part-time at a small institute, primarily doing data evaluation and statistics - and I love it (well, most of the time - sometimes I'm completely fed up with data and figures...). Beside my job at the institute I do some freelance work and I've just started a doctoral course of studies at the Faculty of Agricultural Science at the university here in Göttingen. I really love being back to studying!
I started having penfriends when I was about 12 and it helped me a lot with my English, more than English lessons at school. ;-)
I never seem to get tired of having penfriends, even if sometimes I don't have much time for writing letters. But I always try not to take too long answering the letters waiting on my desk - and being busy nearly always means longer letters because there's so much new to tell.

Requests:
I'm looking for snail mail penfriends (female) from all over the world - I am NOT looking for a romance, a partner or something like that!!! And I prefer to spend my money myself - it's not that much anyway.
Interests, Hobbies, etc.:
I LOVE reading, especially historic novels and fantasy, but I read nearly everything if I'm interested in it. I also like learning languages, travelling if my bank account alows it, next is Sweden for a week in January/February (I'm going to visit a friend there and be at her son's christening) , I collect postcards (anybody who wants to send me a postcard is welcome, I'll send one back, too) - I just joined Postcrossing, it's great! - and names.
I'm interested in a lot of subjects like history, archaeology, geography, ethnology, science, foreign countries, football (German national team and Bayer 04 Leverkusen)...
I love chocolate, I'm a real chocoholic! ;-D
And, of course, I love writing and receiving letters! It's just great to open the mailbox and find a letter from someone far away between the bills. It's like having friends all over the world even if you've never met them and never been were they live.

Favorite Music:
I don't know, I like most of what's on the radio.
I'm a real inapt when it comes to music - I like listening to it but I cant't sing at all and don't even have a little sense for rythm. And don't ask me about that certain singer or that certain song because I'm rather ignorant to that. I can tell you if I like a song or not when I hear it but that's it - definitely not a musician's brain... ;-)

Favorite Movies:
I've just been to the cinema to see Mamma Mia for the third time and I still really liked it
Favorite TV Shows:
documentaries about things that interest me, I often enjoy watching sports, Alarm für Cobra11 (German series)
Favorite Books:
There are just too many to write them all down - I count every book a favourite that I've read at least three times and that are definitely more than 100...
Some of my favourite writers are Marion Zimmer Bradley (I love the Darkover series), Tad Williams, J. K. Rowling, Jean M. Auel, Barbara Wood...
I just read Brisingr, the third book of the Eragon series and loved it! And I read The Time Traveller's Wife ashort while ago and even if it's not one of the books I typically read, I really liked it.
