...after my morning cup of coffee, I'm a friendly person with a pretty good sense of humor..which​ comes in handy as a high school teacher in an alternative education program serving at-risk youth.

Hope to find some female and male friends here...but please no prisoners or anyone asking for money...I'm trying hard to keep a roof over my own head while putting my daughter through college!!  And thanks for the generous offer, but I'm not interested in a share of the gazillions (or "brazillions"​ if you speak George Dubya) your late husband, father, or whoever left in a protected account... Frantically searching for my cell phone and/or car keys, reading, napping, cooking and baking, travel ( whether it's a short road trip or longer), museums, libraries, bookstores, public radio, movies/docum​entaries, music, festivals (especially cultural, bluegrass, and cowboy poetry and music festivals), photography,​ nature, walking/hiki​ng, bicycling, current events, history, spending time with family and friends

Classic rock, bluegrass, western (it's not country, it's cowboy!), and world music

Many...but a few favorites are A Fish Called Wanda, My Cousin Vinnie, Young Frankenstein​, Something About Mary, Little Miss Sunshine, Parenthood, both Bridget Jones movies, French Kiss, all the Star Trek and Spiderman movies, Batman Forever

CNN, 60 Minutes, The History Channel, Food Network, etc., satisfy my need for information,​ but I also enjoy The Office, The New Adventures of Old Christine, The Big Bang Theory, Monk, Andy Griffith, Pinky and the Brain...yeah​, those last two are old, I know...

I'm an information junkie and can enjoy almost any nonfiction book for a fix (unless the subject is extremely technical or abstract), but the majority of books I read tend to be on social science topics, some biographies.​..but some favorite fiction includes "Life of Pi" by Yann Martel, anything by Charles Dickens and Mark Twain.  I love Garrison Keillor's, Bill Bryson's, and David Sedaris' books too.  At the moment I'm enjoying "Homegr​own Democrat"​ by Garrison Keillor...he​ wrote it in 2004, but it's still very applicable for 2008.
