Well...Hainan is an island, so either way you will have to fly to there from HK...but yeah, it's quite close :)
Sanya is the city to go, got THE BEST beaches, sunshine and everything else you ever wanted. Hotels, hmmm, any five star hotel by the YaLongWan is wonderful, ocean view, by the beach, and so on...
