It is. But it is also very cerebral (look it up lol) and feels very 'real'. One of Carrey's great performances. It sucks he doesn't do more drama. He believes it brings him 'bad karma' and all that crap so he only does vapid comedy movies now.

Don't expect a lot of comedy though :p
