shaw brothers?  well i know about it,cause shaw brothers' decade is in 1970's.i wasn't born then~ for hongkong movies,there're some outstanding actors/actresses,for example,stephen chow,chow yun fat,maggie cheung,brigitte lin.if you're interested,you can find some woreks of them.they reflect the real level of chinese movies to some extent.
as to"how would you know"? do you mean,how do i know we're different? well,at first i think we just have different languages and environment,but after talking to some foreign friends,i realize there're really really much difference,the environment we grow up in,the way we're taught to live,the kind of person we're directed to become.they're all quite different.i don't know which one is better or if it's a common fact.but it reminds me of seeing the world from other view.
