For sure. I suppose SolidWorks is kind of CAD software, but Maya is for Media in general (animation, movies, etc).

Hey! Maya isn't really difficult, it depends how much time you want to spend for learning this programm. I love the Maya, because it's very friendly software with a lot of cool stuff for modeling! What about Solidworks? Can you show me your projects? :) Cheers
