About Me:
Well-travelled twenty-six year old woman looking for interesting people to get to know. After years working in the sailing industry, I have recently settled back in the UK , and am missing all the people I used to meet. Now studying Creative Writing at Uni in London. Anyone is welcome to say hi, especially Americans - I don't know many and I plan to travel the States in my RV one day!
Requests:
Male or female, but FRIENDSHIP only. Looking for good conversations, a chance to learn something new, or just a chat and a laugh with people from different places.
** I am unlikely to respond to messages that say little more than; 'Hi, how are you?' Simply because I do not have the time to reply to the amount of these I get. I am equally unlikely to reply to faceless emails...I just like to see who I am conversing with, it's nothing personal :-) **

Interests, Hobbies, etc.:
Sailing and any other water-sport, snowboarding, motor-sport, bowling, playing pool, camping, good movies, writing, reading, travelling - especially the spontaneous kind. Going to the theatre, music concerts and clubs (love Latino and Hip Hop dance clubs especially), hanging out with friends, good conversations, Sunday afternoons in the pub, and generally just learning new stuff and having a good time.
Favorite Music:
Certain songs and artists from pretty much every genre, from Vivaldi to Eminem - seriously. Particularly like - Kaiser Chiefs, Jack Johnson, U2, James Morrison, Van Morrison, Stereophonics, Puddle Of Mud, Nickelback, The Beatles, Genesis, Jamiroquai, Prince, Ginuwine, Snow Patrol, Arctic Monkeys, Skunk Anansie, Coldplay, Mariah, Christina Aguilera, Amy Winehouse, The Killers, Gorillaz, Usher, Snoop, Outcast, Justin Timberlake, Simply Red, Sheryl Crow, Scissor Sisters, Razorlight, Pink, Paul Weller, Queen, Michael Jackson, Madonna, KT Tunstall, Eva Cassidy, Maria Callas, Andrea Bocelli, Michael Buble, Al Green, Rod Stewart, Tina Turner, Radiohead, Oasis, Blur, The Feeling, The Fatback Band, Eric Clapton, Elton John. Electric Light Orchestra, John Lennon, Elvis Presley, Guns 'N' Roses, Brad Paisley, Neil Diamond, Billy Joel, Alicia Keys, The Eagles, Aerosmith, Fleetwood Mac, R.E.M, The Rolling Stones, Finley Quaye, The Fratellis, Tenacious D, Nirvana, Rodrigo Y Gabriella and a bit of Motown. Picked up some great, obscure music from around the world too.
Favorite Movies:
Dances With Wolves, Forest Gump, American History X, The Green Mile, Legends of the Fall, A River Runs Through It, Mr Brooks, Billy Elliott, Fight Club, The Bourne series, ...so many...just good solid stories I guess. Love a bit of Adam Sandler's comedy genius too, Click was especially great. And I even like a bit of Kung-fu; Bruce Lee, Kill Bill, Rush Hour...
Favorite TV Shows:
24, The West Wing, The Simpsons, Globe Trotter, Aircrash Investigation, Forensic Detectives, Scrubs, Friends - when I can catch them. Not big on TV really.
Favorite Books:
This is an endless list - I'm an avid reader. Anything from Ernest Hemingway, John Updike, Norman Maclean, Charles Dickens, Oscar Wilde, Kazuo Ishiguro, Hunter S. Thompson or Ian McEwan - for me is always a winner. A Clockwork Orange by Antony Burgess, and 1984 by George Orwell, are incredible. Anything by Nick Hornby, Nicholas Evans, or Bernard Cornwall is great for a bit of commercial mainstream too. Also love magazines like National Geographic, Reader's Digest, New Scientist, and The Economist.
Favorite Quotes:
There is no such thing as future, just the past repeating itself.
Work is for people who can't sail ;-)
Youth is wasted on the young.
These days, Man knows the price of everything and the value of nothing...life is too important to be taken seriously...I can resist everything except temptation...Education is an admirable thing, but it is well to remember that nothing that is worth knowing can be taught. (Just a few of my favourites from Mr Oscar Wilde)
