I am an novice runner currently training for my first 21km half-marathon. I'm a little obsessed by it so would be great to meet with others who enjoy running. I love outdoor living - hiking, swimming - where I live is great for that. Other interest at the moment is Africa... I want to learn more about this continent its people and culture. I'd really like to meet people who are using their lives for good... I'd like to be such a person. I'm not interested in romance just in meeting people with interesting things to talk about.. I want most in life to learn, to remain open to things, new ways of thinking and seeing the world in a fresh light... I want most to be compassionate. I don't mind having arbitrary conversation either.. we can't be interesting, compelling and profound all of the time can we? So if you want to talk about your day... wax on..

I dream everyday about going on an ocean safari in Mocambique... swimming with dolphins, whale sharks, giant turtles and manta rays.. gorging myself on peri-peri prawns and cold local beer... enjoying the warm hospitality of Africa.. I hope my dream will come true one day..

I don't have much time to watch TV anymore.. most nights I get home too late... but enjoying watching Planet Earth, Galapagos (thrilling documentary on this prehistoric archipelago... think Darwin... so beautiful) and Ruby.... a morbidly obese woman striving to lose weight... I'm a bit of a reality nut... but only the good stuff...

Currently reading Black Mamba Boy by Nadifa Mohamed... it's about  the affect World War II had on Africa told through the eyes of a little boy... Bit of a tearjerker.... Tell me what's on your bed side table right now...
