Just out of pure curiosity, why did you move to Sweden?

Hej! :-) Hvordan går det?

I totally remember that. At the time I lived in a city just outside of Göteborg and the education was really bad. On the bright side they didn't let people pass easily, since there are students there STILL when I went 3 years ago! But I hated going because I never learned anything and the others who had a hard time learning the language really held me back. When I started university is when I actually became fluent in Swedish. I was surrounded by real Swedes, real Swedish, etc 24/7. And since I moved to another city (Umeå) to study and my boyfriend stayed where we were cause he had a job, I was forced to use Swedish and just rely on myself only (though, he eventually moved up 6 months later). Yeah, I didn't have a good experience with SFI/SAS either.

I actually didn't find it too hard because a lot of science related words are pretty similiar since it's based off of Latin in English and Swedish. Once I started Uni I really started to feel "Swedish". I didn't have any real Swedish friends until I began to study and finally having my own group of friends was great. My SFI/SAS/Komvux vs. Uni experiences are complete opposites.

Where abouts do you live? You don't need to say if you don't feel comfortable. :) How long have you and your boyfriend been together? What made you move here instead of him to Canada? I think it's so cool to talk to people in similiar situations as me.

Like SFI or SAS? Or just on your own? :)
Right now I have summer vacation from university studies. I have been studying the dietitian program for the past 1½ years but I think once fall comes I am going to switch to biomedical analyst since there is a much better job outlook in that area. I tried looking for a summer job and applied to a few but didn't end up getting any. So it'll just be a relaxing summer with 3 weeks vacation in Spain. :) Do you do much traveling now that Europe is so near by? :P

It takes time. I didn't feel comfortable speaking Swedish until about the 2 year mark. Now I'd say I'm fluent and have no worries about speaking Swedish. Though my boyfriend and I still don't speak Swedish with each other :P It's hard to switch language after you've been speaking English for so long. It's the one we have always known each other in so Swedish feels strange for us. Plus he's just stubborn, if I speak to him in Swedish he usually just replies back in English anyways. What are you currently doing here in Sweden? :)

Haha, I am actually interested in Russian! Where are you from? :) How long have you been living in Sweden?
