what is it?
What is truth and why should she be the object of my desires? When has her smile been the dawn of my day or her beauty stirred longing in my heart? When has truth, seated so serenely, so high on that pedestal of virtue, ever been close enough that I might thrill to her touch or bask in the light of her presence. Where has truth prevailed and lead me into circumstances that were not dire and uncertain? Are her lips so sweet and her body so desirous as to quicken thoughts of passion fulfilled and aching lust finally sated.

There is no place safe from the truth
No valley where the light of day never shines
No fortress too strong to be breached by justice.

There are no men above the law
No life that is free from the specter of it’s end
And no position so secure that it’s foundations cannot be shaken

There is no leader that is better than his people
No government that is higher than it’s calling
No constitution that can overcome the will of it’s makers

There is no nation free from guilt
No place where grace and absolution are not needed
No ground so holy that it cannot be blessed

Nowhere is higher than heaven
No sun shines brighter than it’s light
No life so lost that the way cannot be found

new song lyric just written tonight

Just Barely

I’m holding on, just barely holding on
One more day
Just hoping you’re out there wishing me
Well, just barely , holding on
Just for today
One more minute, one more moment in this time
Not too long to remember before I let go
I’m gone
Just holding on , just barely holding on
For one more minute, one more day
Wishing someone’s waiting to send some hope my way
Don’t stop to think
Don’t wait to move
I’m in between the moments right there holding on
To everything I could have done and everything I didn’t
Holding on to
Everything I should have done and everything I couldn’t
Holding on to now and holding on to then
If I hold on too much longer I’ll be holding on to when
Just barely…

Time is the hero and the villain.
The destroyer and the builder
The father of hope and the mother of despair
Giving us years and taking away the seconds
Lending us the moments and letting the minutes
Run out like the sand in a tiny hour glass
Destroying us with what we cannot see
As we spend the precious substance as if
Tomorrow will never come
Finally we will all say, just one more
One more hour to love
One more moment to see
And To hear those “Explosions in the Sky”

This is the (Rough draft) Prolog to a very long Novel I am working on Called

" The Inheritors "

Newly minted Captain Gail Roberts couldn't help but smile just a little. She'd made it. For the fourth time she went through the primary check list and made sure she was synched up with Alameda and Berlin. Not only had she gotten her Captains bars faster than any women in the history of the service, here she was, at the center of the universe, in the control tower of an air force base few people even knew existed. The big board showed every military and civilian aircraft position and mission in progress, even the ones classified as dark. It had been named Oracle, (as in all seeing) and she was CO of Oracle even if the only people under her command for the next four hours were a master Sergeant on patrol and a few dozen airmen scattered around the base. All the Equipment was beeping and humming along mightily just like it should at the secret base, not far from the capital. It contained all the state of the art communication systems they could fit in the room and a number of devices that the secretary would deny even existed. As she checked that everything was working properly she checked it off on a list on her clipboard. The fourth item on the list was a remote sensor for every stealth fighter in flight, even she was surprised by that one. This was just a stepping stone for her; she had her eye on a post at the Pentagon maybe as a General’s aide or even a post with air force intelligence. She had discovered that once you get your clearance it could take you anywhere you wanted to go. She had seen a lot, all the things that civilians thought they knew, she had witnessed with her own two eyes. She made her way around the room check list in hand when movement outside got her attention. She was certain she’d seen a flicker of light in the air over the field. She quickly checked her monitor; there wa
