Love doesn't need victims. You love and accept person as he/she is or you don't love at all. If you want to change someone it isn't love. After changes it will be another person. If you demand someone refuse what he/she like, you demand to refuse part of him/herself, part of what made him/her as he/she is. If you don't like this part you don't love at all. Love never need victims, love need understanding and accepting.
