interesting, is the 儿 at the end of words common in 重庆话?
Ah ok. It's cool, so does that mean you don't have the northeastern accent where you put 儿 at the end of many words?
oh ok, I knew about the 简体字 and 繁體字, and the varied pronunciations an example being Wu in the Shanghai area (correct me if that is wrong). I figured Mandarin would be good to begin with; because you live in Beijing i'm assuming that you speak Mandarin as your first language because it originated in the North East (again if i'm wrong about this please correct me), do you know any of the other dialects?
I mean that the Lord of the Rings is a challenging novel to read, especially if English is not one's first language because of Tolkien's writing style. Some people have told me that they find it longwinded. I'm interested in books that are Chinese stories so that I would have to read it in Mandarin, so I would think about the story using Mandarin.
Yea, the lord of the rings in English would be difficult. Are there any books in Mandarin that you would recommend?
Live positive and very happy!
