Apparently the last time I regularly visited this site or updated this profile page was in 2019 lol.  So here's me as of 2026.  Yes, I've been here off and on for 16 years)

My name is Jacqueline, from the USA.  I grew up in mostly dumpy, depressing areas of the southern USA, but currently live in a dumpy, depressing area north by the Great Lakes (have you SEEN housing prices nowadays?  At least now I have a lake as scenery and marginally better westher). I'm still not entirely used to the winters here...but the summers are nice.  I can't deal with extreme heat anymore. 

I am happily married, with three children (and thinking about a fourth one).  My husband is from Russia and we originally met on a language exchange app.  I spent time with him in Russia and then he eventually moved here to the US.  I've also met multiple people from this site in person as well as written letters and exchanged mail.  So...if you're someone who's here hoping to meet actual friends or maybe find a foreign romance, don't give up.  It's certainly possible to find that))  The internet isolates people, but it connects us too.  For me, the man who understood my feelings like no one else ever had before was on the other side of the world))

I never felt like I quite belonged with other people growing up, so meeting people online felt more comfortable than trying to meet people in person, in some ways.  (I am autistic amd ADHD so it can be difficult to understand for other people think and socialize sometimes, and additionally I am hearing impaired and have a naturally reserved personality). 

I have a degree in geology and have a side gig training AI models, but at this stage in my life I'm primarily focused on my children and am a stay-at-home mom.  I just simply find it fulfilling to contribute to cultivating educated, well-rounded members of the next generation of humanity and watch them grow, learn, and develop their personalities)) 

By the way, you might have noticed that my profile has been around for quite a long time.  If you you're curious about some of the differences on this site between 2009 and now:

-Number of messages from random Africans/Indians/Middle Easterners has dropped precipitously.  I'm assuming this is due to age, which is...not surprising but still disturbing to think about.  Keeps my inbox much cleaner, though. 

-Interpals used to have a forum.  I miss this feature, especially since there was some truly unhinged and funny content there, usually from someone with some super bland or generic profile.   (Topics like politics and religion tend to bring out people's real nature). 

-Sorry to disappoint, but this site was always full of perverts, scammers, fake profiles, people with almost nonexistent profiles, amd "hi how are u" opening messages.  You just learn to live with it or take breaks sometimes (as I have done repeatedly over the years).

-Sorry to disappoint a second time, but yes, this site has always been full of people who don't read (PURPLE!  Did you bother to read that?  Just checking :D) and are severely allergic to words and utilizing brainpower.  Another thing that just has to be accepted on any form of social media, 

-Also: if you were blocked from messaging somebody you used to be able to see why (if it was your country, your gender, your age, etc).  Now it just says "blocked due to privacy settings" which is much more boring.

1) Prefer people who are more laid back on response time.  If you're wanting shallow chit-chat or getting responses every single day then I'm not a suitable person.  Let's not waste each other's time. 

2) I have never blocked any genders or nationalities in all these years and don't plan to start.  But I do expect men to respect the fact that I'm married.  Don't flirt (or ask for money, or help with a visa, or any nonsense like that, I REALLY hope this kind of stuff isn't as common now as it used to be). 

3) Prefer people who feel like they have things in common with me, obviously.

Science, politics, history, cultures, religion, spending an hour reading about random trivia like about what the French were doing in 1583 or about some random Chinese dynasty or things like that...))

Generally like 'nerd' things like anime and video games, although I don't indulge in that stuff as often nowadays and am not that up to date on what's currently popular because as a 34 year old, I'm a grumpy elder that doesn't care about what's trendy anymore))

Basically don't watch any TV or movies and rarely post on any social media.  Have never touched TikTok in my life and don't plan to.  Don't care about celebrities or influencers.  So if you're someone who's big into pop culture or trends, I'm afraid we won't have much to talk about.  This is just a warning))

Prefer people who have common interests and things to talk about (this shouldn't really need to be said, but...)
