Hi there, Bonnie!
It's very nice to (sort of) meet you!
My name is Jake! I read your profile and I wanted to let you know that I thought it was very interesting and that I think you are an interesting person from what I've read! I am really interested in the Philippines and it's culture! I would love to learn more and become good friends if you wanted to! Thank you for reading my message and I hope you are having a really great day today! Please take good care of yourself!

Wow, that explains a lot then, it also explains your more than adequate level of English! So does Tagalog have more of a vernicular function in the Philippines or is it used in official instances like courts and national politics? The language policy of the Phillipines sounds really interesting. No need to pardon yourself, the Netherlands are a small country, so it's natural that people will sometimes confuse them with other small countries. I'll probably have some misconceptions about the Phillipines as well, by communicating like this we can fix those, right? :)

Dutch is my mother language, but I speak French as well. Everyone here speaks Dutch though, it's not like in Belgium where one segment of the population speaks Dutch and the other speaks French :). It's definitely an interesting place, you should come visit someday. I'm always surprised by how good Filipinos are at speaking English, your school curriculum is partly in English right? :)

Hey Bonnie, nice to meet you, I'm Thom. I don't think you're crazy for wanting to learn that many languages, I'd call it ambitious :). I've been to the Phillipines when I was studying in Taiwan last year and I had a great time, it's a beautiful country. Have you ever been to the Netherlands? :)
