About Me
I work as a Medical Herbalist, having recently graduated and set up my practice. My work is to help people with their health using natural medicines. I can be a bit of an alternative person at times - sometimes a bit of a hippie. I also work as an emergency medical technician at events. I'm tolerant of all people, but expect people to be the same with me.
My background is Aviation... I initially trained to be a pilot, and still fly gliders every now and again. I'm also a biker - two wheels are better than one; two wings are better than two wheels is my motto.
I love history and mythology and love travelling. In particular I love the Nordic and Celtic counteries; though I would because that's where my ancestry is from! I would also love to explore more of the Baltic area and Russia.
My Dreams:
* To be able to say something nice in every language - as I love it when people surprise me by speaking my language
* To ride the silk road from China to Europe on horseback.
* Build and travel around in a gypsy caravan
* Live closer to nature and more in harmony with the world and those around me - sounds corny, but it's a nice ideal.
* Help as many as I can with my developing abilities

I'd like to develop deep, meaningful and lasting friendships with people from all over the world, but especially the Nordic counteries, the Baltic area and Russia. Ideally to share ideas, feelings, emotions, points of view, opinions.... to laugh with each other and learn from each other - and enjoy that warm rosy glow of friendship.
I love languages but some are so mind boggling to me that I am no good at them - namely Russian and Icelandic - heavily inflected languages confuse me!
I put down a relationship/romance in 'looking for' secton because if that develops with a good friend in the future, then brilliant! But I'm not a sex-pest, and take a pretty dim view of them. They're spoiling interpals.
I also don't answer really short messages - please put a little thought into it! If you can't think of anything to say, tell me how you feel today, what you last ate, and a really random dream for the future! At least it shows you actually do want to communicate!

Hobbies & Interests
As for my hobbies, there are loads. I'm sure we'll share something in common. But here are some of my hobbies: motorcycles, gardening, making interesting things, languages and literature, travel, history - in particularly the history of Europe up to about 1600. I have an insatiable urge to learn how things work - this is particularly present with mechanical and electronic devices. I'm a keen environmentalist, although I'm not a dippy-hippy. I believe technology can make our world a better place, but that we mustn't sell our souls to it - honour our heritage and history. At the same time, I love nature, the wilderness and green places, especially forrests. I am interested in the crafts and way of life of such places and am interested in their disappearing skills and traditions. They live in my heart anyway!
